it was me but thats another watch.

I will try to get a lume shot soon.

Lume quality is ok as far as i know the previous time i checked before the purchase.

My concern now is excess orange lume material on the black borders. Not something i expect from a Rolex but its still a beautiful timepiece :D

wooo... did you say ORANGE LUME... :D

ENJOY:

Mind sharing with me the price of this?

red army watches have price guide (they normally give 10% discount) .....
got mine at ebay

the beauty of this watch is that you can turn the bezel to change the time (to the country stated on the bezel, e.g. u set at hong kong, if turn the bezel slightly to Tokyo, the time will change to Tokyo time)

I have been wanting to buy a classic looking watch. To some, this watch may be a 'Ah Pek' watch. But, love the clean dial and retro feel.

Surprisingly, it can be worn with formal and casual clothes.

Where got ah Pek... As long as you are loving it...

Ps... I used to own a goldlion belt, ah Pek or not??? Lol

A qn for rolex users and owners? How come Rolex lume quality not as good as it seems ah..

My GMT got grey patches in the lume on several of the indexes

I posted this in WUS..Figured here would be a good place.

I recently got a white milaguss with some lume issues

The orange lume doesnt seem to fill the black borders perfectly. Its not a perfect rectangle lume

Look at the 10 oclock and 3 oclock index at the bottom, there is a lump of orange lume sticking out from the black border.

The 1 oclock index also has some excess material on the black border.

Is this the nature of the way the lume is filled? When the lume dries up , a portion of it slips into the black border? Cannot be avoided?

Dont think i would go for a trip to RSC, but are these minor stuff normal?

I think my Sub C looks okay... You may want to compare with another Milgauss.

how much u paid for e servicing? :o

Hi, to avoid raising a discussion on service costs, I will refrain from stating the price.

Suffice to say the place I got it serviced at did an excellent job and I was quoted a fraction of the astronomical price Swatch SG quoted me.

Only downside was the waiting time, but in the end, it was well worth it.

Haha abit lar, but for the price I am paying , I expect better.

GS my main concern is servicing , have to rely solely on Thong Sia. No others can service it I think.

Mainstream brands easier to service.

so long not spring drive, a well trained service person can handle it no need to go thong sia

Guys

while browsing some 2nd hand dealer company websites, I came across some timepieces listed as brand new 100% unworn.

Their statement is brand new 100%, warranty dated.

Buying from them, are there any advantages since the price they offered on their websites aren't that fantastic . Wouldn't I be better off buying from Authorized ADs?

Would service centres honor warranties for watches bought from non ADs?

might want to edit the photo to remove your serial number there...

btw, my milgauss GV looks ok to the naked eye, but i haven't tried looked at it through a loupe. It was bought brand new and never serviced before though.

Nice watch.. I remember there is a white face dual time, is it available locally?

There's a white face Dual Time. There was someone (can't remember who) saying that it's possible to get it locally and it's cheaper than online from NZ.

Bro, savings are meagre because arbitrage has eaten into any price difference.

And if you're not completely happy with the watch in the metal from online dealers, what can you really do?

Imho, the pricier the item, the more important it is to eyeball, touch & feel it, so I can walk away if I'm not completely satisfied.

An authentic rollie with valid warranty for eg should be accepted in any RSC worldwide.

A value buyer like me (ie. poor & kiam siap) would buy 2nd hand because the 1st owner would've absorbed the initial depreciation. Also: no box, no papers, no warranty card (even if expired) - no deal.

An aristocratic buyer (ie. the rest of you ballers here) should consider buying from local AD for the following reasons:

1. You get to see, touch & feel the watch in the metal to your heart's contents under your loupe to check out the dial alignment, micro-scratches, etc.

2. You know for sure you're getting an authentic, genuine piece.

3. You can develop a relationship with an AD sales rep that can translate to better discounts and perks for future purchases, even invites to their events for canapes & champagne.

4. Dispute resolution can be done face to face.

5. The warranty starts from the time you hand over your CC, instead a pre-dated warranty where you get days, weeks or even months fewer. Heck, technically it is a 2nd hand piece even if unworn!

Or ... you or a kind friend can pick one up if you/your friend is able to plan a business or holiday trip to include a detour to an AD overseas known to have stocks at a good price ... and savour the satisfaction of not being forced to hand over 7% Go Squeeze Them to the gahmen.

Cheers! :s12:
