So, nowadays when my friends or colleagues complain non-stop, I just ask them who they voted for. Then they diam diam liao...

When interest rates rise, some debtors might not be able to repay the loans. These loans will become 'non-performing'. The banks might have to write-off these loans. Small O&G companies which are struggling are in this category.

A few years ago, they borrowed money cheaply for expansion thinking that oil will remain $80-$100 in the future. Unfortunately, oil price drop so drastically and so quickly that they cannot repay the loans. Worse still, interest is rising, so making it even more difficult to repay the loans. In the end, default lor....

The rise will be very very gradual and measured. The Fed dun want to kill the recovery.

I am sure the 3 local banks can withstand a gradual slow hike. But prices will weaken...

Ya lor, the job market is poor. None of the jobs that I fancy are hiring in this period too.

The irritating thing is, during CNY the kaypoh relatives will start asking questions about my job. Sianz...
