Any comments on George cleverley shoes?
Price wise they are all over the place on mrporter, so I'm guessing their benchmade and Anthony range has got quite a gap..
Thinking of getting their benchmade, but some research suggest that they oem from CJ... So the question is; are they worth the premium over CJ?

Well the consensus is that C&J does their entry RTW line (=handgrade?) while another does their higher Anthony Cleverly line.

Imo at that level (Anthony), its all about finding your favourite last amongst the usual brit RTW suspects

Hello.

I got myself a pair of leather soled shoes and was suggested to get a "vibram/topy sole guard" to ensure the leather will not wear and tear easily.

Any idea where i can get this "guard" made in SG?

Many thanks

Hello. Some of us would recommend you to wear several times to season the leather to your shape before Vibram or topy.
I get mine done at kips n kwiks (junction 8). Very friendly and good service.

Looks like I'm one of the few that actually like the Ron last from meermin. It fits me well on my heels. The breaking in was a bit*h but after that it was really good. I do think the sizing should be very much the same as the new Rey. I got a half size smaller than my others n I find the length a little short.
Just need to find someone with my size in the Ron last and I'll be set.. :)

How was it? Did u try out any shoes? Looks like he might have some sample sale sometimes. Lol

I am normally a UK 9, but went with 9.5 for the JFitz loafer based on comments in SF and Justin over email enquiries. I regretted. It is too long, and i had to put in some heel inserts (and still too long, but now wearable).

I went with UK 9 for a Carmina uetam loafer next. And that thing is tight. But I would be able to stretch that over time i guess.

I have a higher than usual instep which makes buying loafers an issue.

I don't have any other JFitz shoes and i did not make it to his Singapore trunk show also.

Time to move on to enzo bonafe. Lots of high instep lasts. :s12:

Different brands, and most of the time you will be limited by what the cobbler carries.

Shukey, for example carries Topy and Masterfix, Vibram.

Bro, did you wear your shoe for few times before apply the guard? There are a lot of mix comment on this in www. Still not sure which one to follow. Would you advice based on your personal experience?

I personally allow my shoes to break in before putting on sole protectors. Also, visit Shukey over Masterfix. Prices are cheaper and workmanship is better.

I personally don't think brand new shoes with their stiff leather soles would be very good for applying sole protectors. But that's just me.

Hi DT1212,

You might want to indicate what size are your shoes. This might eliminate some potential people who are interested.

Hi,

Have purchased a pair and unfortunately last is not suitable for my feet.
Looking to let it go asap.

Do PM me if you are interested. Thanks.

Hope that I am not violating any sales rules here with this post..

For you, only the best rubbers will suffice.
