Yup. This is correct. You musn't count the years they didn't call you. In my case, they call me every year since 2004. Count the no of ICTs. I hope this helps.

I also kanna every year since 2004, doing 9th cycle in nov (my 9th year).

Thus it is impt to attend every single ICT even if it is just a Half-day briefing/cohesion SAF100 (low key)...which will help you to clock for the work year.

Number of NS Years and Number of ICTs served (HK/LK) is 2 different thing actually.

i ORD in Year 2000 but only served 8 ICTs now >.> (5HK 3 LK) been going nearly every year except deferred for 1 year. Just to give u a similar scenario

i quote my example ORD may2003:

if you notice that, I do 2 HK ICT in 2011 alone (see red color), but is consider 2 HK ICT in 2 different work year!!!!

So I will complete my 10th cycle by next year which is also the 10th work year.......so I can MR officially!!!!

MR mean no more IPPT/RT/ICT/manning...etc

10 yrs cycle does not means 10 yrs NS. I completed 18 yrs cycle because I do 10 HK, 8 LK for 18 yrs continuously. They can don't MR you if they still need you until you are 40 yrs old.

LK is not important to me so I never really bother. Do have those half day to 1 day briefing and stuff. As for ICT, mine was at least 7 days and above. If oversea training, max i think is 23 days.

If they don't MR you, you can feedback about this & they will let you MR since you have competed 10 ICT (7 HK & 3LK).

I know 1 navy guy who do not feedback & have already done more then 10 ICT & keep getting SAF100.

However he like to go back ICT, so he is ok with it.

I do agree, I dun mind doing extra ICT....

But after I complete 7hk+3lk ICT, I do expect to the least that they cancel my IPPT because I MR already, Yes they can still call me up for ICT if they want to, I dun mind really. Free holiday break anyway!!!

I got the Hamilton Watch and my 2nd Good Service Medal on my 6th HK. The 2nd Good Sevice Medal award was puring mistake by Mindef coz I think they forgotten they gave me one couple years back ... lol.

I also recently got a letter from Mindef/3rd Floatilla inviting me to SAFRA Yishun to attend a MR function to collect my MR Certificate.

sorry ah just to check with you on the "NS Men Hotline...no longer liable for IPPT" was your IPPT window fall after your MR date stated on the letter or within? Cos my MR letter state 1st April 2013 and my IPPT window still within does that still liable for IPPT?

In May this year I called my unit to ask & was told I had done 2 low keys & 7 high keys so my ICT in June 2012 was my 10th & last ICT. I don't recall being called back for any low key but didn't bother asking. When I went back for ICT, some NSmen claimed that 1 day mob briefing & 1 day medical also considered low key. So I figured that's where my 2 low keys came from.

After my ICT I called again to double check. This other clerk (the first one was a lady, this one was a guy) told me I've done 8 high key. I enquired about low key and was told I had done none. Ok so different ppl say different things. How typical!

Anyway this clerk claims that "new" MR criteria is that you must be a NSman for at least 10 years & you must do at least 7 high key than can MR. Not necessary must do 10 ICT. He claims I will get my MR letter after April 2013.

Let's wait & see. For the record I just got a letter from MINDEF saying that I have qualified for the 3rd milestone (i.e. finished my 10 years as NSman) & will get $3000 credit to my CPF.

As long as you go for at least a 0.5day or up to 6days is low key and also +1 NS year cycle.

Just check your ns booklet at ns.sg. It will show. As long got saf100 issue are consider as call up. Half day event also count as low key.

Your clerk is wrong lah. Need at least 7 Hk n ten call up in total. So can be 7 Hk 3 lk or 8 Hk 2 lk n must fulfill 10 work years. If on one work year call up two times consider as one only.
You confirm mr Liao cos u got that final 3 k.

Hi guys,

I need some help for those ns men who has dutifully served their 10th cycle (from beginning till the end). I am having my 10th ICT at Clementi camp this end sept. Low key 5 days according to the SAF 100. there is no program schedule and I am not too sure what we will be doing. I need to know:

1: what is the training like? I heard of some kind of passing out parade or something..
2: must bring the back pack stuffs?
3: I also receive my manning which is on feb next year. I thought 10th cycle ends, can throw helmet, sob, uniform etc?

I hope those who has finish their cycle can help. Thanks in advance.

Can't find program schedule ? That mean OTOT. My last ict basically sleep n eat n night off everyday. Got mr dinner plus parade. Still got some lessons which no one bother also. Even trainers also come TCss with us. Rsm also TCss Liao.

My one got ten work years but if count the date only 8 yrs plus. 1st ict nov2002. Last ict aug 2011. So I do more than 10 ict (include those 1 or 2 days event) in less than 9 yrs

Actually it depend on unit. My unit plan it in this way such tat we can mr much earlier. But too many ppl defer so half of my unit ppl did not mr n they arrange one special additional Hk ict this may for them. But that ict is basically do nothing one

also beside from those unit ICT listed above, b4 those actual low key or high key unit ICT started, I also kanna 2-4days of refresher course about one week b4 the actual ICT started...

all need to add 2-4day more

is actually:

2-4days refresher + 6days unit ICTin May2004 (For work year 01Apr04 - 31Mar05)....

2-4days refresher + ....etc...and so on till next year MR

I do find it a bit too good to be true though that a 1 day & 0.5 day call up are considered low key.
