Just last few days 初2 I saw 1 of them at the Queen street at coffeeshop opp the temple order char siew rice... I scratched my head and in full monks robe no less

Monks not supposed to touch money and own things. Some local monks and nuns no qualms accepting any pows given to them voluntarily but maybe can understand when cost of living in Sg high. But when I see them living a better life than me (drive car, go casino, wear lolex), I also shake head and lose any faith in religion.

I even know of local monk who put on weight during the Covid years! Dunno jiak simi ho liao.

Shave botak put on robes does not necessary mean real monks or nuns.

That's why when some people say must respect the robes I don't agree.

Buddhist monastics are not supposed to accept money when they come out for alms round (化緣); they only accept food. Don't see botak in robes straight away give money. See their behaviour. This reported case is 100% scammers; if don't report them, at least just ignore them and walk on. Don't feed the scammers' pockets.
