Yes run already. I guess this will be my last LG OLED. totally lost confident on their TV.

their soundbar SJ9 was damn good though

what sort of content do u watch?

running Youtube kids most of the time.. but the video and contents are from different channels.

got watch 4K bluray rip occassionally

i can see a rectangle block, is that the "burnt" portion?
i wonder what content would caused that?

how long out of warranty? tried calling LG to see if they can work something out for you?

Iirc lg are not covering that for warranty

Don't have to ask for a warranty repair, just work something out, maybe a discount for a panel replacement.. for screen burnt like this to occur within a year, it's either usage abuse or quality problem...

Yes. I really have no idea. All i did was YouTube and the contents are all from different channels and if i pause for long they will have fireworks screensaver.

I don't think LG will cover this kind of burn in. I can try to call them. But its really an ultimate disappointment that such usage around 5-6hrs will cause this burn in.

I guess that is the screen.. U want test properly go load full color wallpaper into it.. U can't use YouTube app panel to test.. I run YouTube most of the time I dun have burn in.. Been using c7 for 2 years

confirm is the panel.. because when i watch EPL matches.. u can see vague green burn in on the field.

Because u watch YouTube or YouTube kids there is no this kind of box.. Unless yr kid pay this kind of small box video for hrs and hrs.. Like Samsung oled phone u see the burn in is those apps icons.. U can see very clearly.. Fair enough.. But yrs the box I guess is yr kid accidentally press some key and is a prompt white window in LG oled menu.. Then it stay for hours until burn in.

But basically, they are very responsive to your calls. Give them a call. They'll send a technician to come assess and check if it really is an issue.

For reference to anyone thinking of buying an OLED TV. A few days left before it is officially 1 year with my LG OLED C7.

Let's see if there has been any temporary screen retention. (Not burn in. That is too hard to get in the current screen technology that is used to counter burn-ins)
My TV has been utilized well over this 1 year. Youtube, Netflix, TV, a lot of PC and PS4 games including RPG and FPS with the static HUDs.

TV Total Power On Time is now 2199 Hours. I am using PowerPoint in fullscreen to check the screen for any defects.

Hi. No. I did not run pixel refresher at all throughout my use of the TV.

I did help it a bit by letting my screen timeout time be around 5-10 minutes from my Windows PC.

Thus in a scenario where I had to leave for more than the allotted time, the video that I am playing on my PC to the TV will disappear letting the TV do its wallpaper transitions. After a few minutes, if I have not come back, the TV will turn itself off.

The wallpaper transitions and even with the TV off is more than enough to let the glass rid itself of any static images that might have stayed.

For games, PS4 will darken the game to be extremely dim on idle especially if you are on the PS4 menu where there's even more static images on the screen.
Similarly, I will make a habit to turn the TV off when I know I won't be coming back on time to resume my game. It's become a habit and the TV does a good enough job that I have no reason to intervene as much.

I even turn off Pixel Shift which helps the TV shift the image slightly from time to time to prevent a static image from burning in. But I find it unnecessary.

For games, Far Cry 5, Assassin's Creed, Persona 5, God of War, Tales of Berseria, Red Dead. I've played a lot for hours and days when I had free time and chiong those games for days on end. As you can see, there are no image retention whatsoever even with HDR turned on for some of those games. You must compare the amount of true complains to the ones you see on the Internet & Bandwidth section of this forum. That is what we call a true complaint.

Like here, mostly, we're sharing deals and once in a while, some trolls will say OLED has burn-in and all that. But they are not true buyers that has the TVs. We should only take the complaints from actual Singaporean buyers who has issues. Then we find out what lead to that problem from happening. So we can avoid the same issue. That is all. So far, it seems that the silence from actual buyers says it all.

Only once in a while, some has issues and that is where it is good for them to inform us and see how LG's service is when it comes to solving their issue.

Have fun. Just use it as per normal. If you have no connection to the TV, let the TV cycle around that transitional wallpaper and then let the TV shut off by itself or just turn the TV off. It really doesn't matter as that is how you get rid of the image retention on the glass. But if you think you have an image retention from a static image, you can choose to run pixel refresher. Maybe that helps.
