Sian. I see Samsung also have AD but doesn't seem to be affecting battery life leh.

That's because in Samsung it's combined with display time on. :s13: Google split this. Ambient display battery will drain battery one lah.

Based on the call I had with singtel, the CSO said 21/11 is the latest estimated delivery date that's in their system. So if we are lucky enough and the stocks arrive this coming week, we MIGHT be able to get it by this week.

Have you looked at battery comparisons from other sites, just to see whether the results are consistent? Redmondpie, based on what I recall, is blatantly biased towards Apple.

Anandtech also indicated at such. See below:

google also underclocked their SD845 by a little.. which also explains why their antutu score is lesser den competitors.

From what I understand Google imposed thermal limits on the P3 so expect the phone to be either underclocked or will not run at max clock speed for a continuous period of time in order to preserve the battery runtime or consumption.

Oh, I disable it already. Used too much battery liao la. Like that who the heck will enables it.

Anyway, the phone is kinda smaller than Nexus5x. Just a little bit too small for my hand to hold, so feel abit hard to hold.
May need some time to adjust, will see how it goes.

Hahah wait for them to resolve this issue during software updates lor. Hopefully the future software will resolve the mic issue as well.

TBH, new phones are going to have awry battery, there is no escaping it. After a few days, your battery will stable one. If google screws this up again, then we just have to wait for them to bloody fix it.

Eh. AD use so much battery one ah? I slept for 7 hours, battery dropped 10%.

It was about 1% per hour for my pixel 2 xl when i sleep at night with aod. Considering my pixel 2 xl has larger battery capacity than your pixel 3, sounds about right.

Do note aod is also affected by ambient light if you have adaptive brightness on. So aod during say e.g. daytime where light is constantly shining at the sensors would consume more battery than at night when its pitch black.

So what are the best accessories for this phone?

I like the fabric case...
What is the best glass for this phone?

Do we need a separate thread for this?

Seems that it's draining abit on the battery life. So I prefer to turn it off.

On their pixel 3 it seems so.

On my pixel 2 xl i dont have a separate category for ambient display battery consumption. Just screen.

The 1% per hour was measured by myself by noting what time and battery % i left the phone before going to sleep and measured it again after i wake up.

With wifi on, mobile data on, location on, all sounds on, notifications on, no alarm.
