Maybe different phones kena different things? That's my guess haha. Like bugs and issues I have on my essential phone I don't see it on my OG Pixel.

Screen looks okay to me. I can still see very minor uneven tint, but then again i'm super sensitive to such things. In day to day use, minor enough to not bother me. Colours looks okay too, and outdoor brightness is decent. Still can see some crushed blacks, but not as bad as it used to be on Pixel 2 XL already. Basically, it's a better screen compared to the Pixel 2 XL, but still lose out to like the top tier phones.

No microsd no talk. WTH is Google thinking when they priced this 3a phone? Will get slaughtered by Xiaomi and Honor etc. Galaxy A50 is substantially cheaper and has similar specs. Galaxy S9 can be found around same price

Ehhhh since when pixel phones got SD card slot one. And people who go for pixel is for the stock Android experience and the camera so I don't think the XM HW and Honor will come into play that much I guess.

Nobody force you to buy. Can always go for your usual consumer samsung huawei lg.

Nexus and pixel from google has all along been an enthusiast phone. Not produced to cater to mainstream consumers anyway.

Im sure they want to increase the number of users using pixel phones too. But im pretty sure not to the extent to overtake sales figures of other phone makers be it apple samsung huawei or xiaomi ba.

If google were to make phones like how huawei and xiaomi first entered the markets i think would sell more phone units also.

Mainstream consumers are very practical, you offer them something very affordable and with lots of features as compared to what the big players out there, they will not hesitate to make the switch asap i think.

Pixel 3a seems pretty good. Same design and same amount of ram as the premium pixel 3 (but with headphone jack!). No need buy expensive pixel 3.
