Sell !

It’s crazy defies valuation.

Wait till end of the year, when you see vaccines rolled out fully, schools reopened in the US and Europe. Planes flying all over the skies. People getting back to revengeful spending, what they have saved for 2 years. S&P500 will be up 30% for the year and then you can call it a bubble. :)

Dow 2% up

Crushed

I was telling you whole of last week, you had so many chances to load up. SG, UK, China, Korea, US, all were down 5-7%. You should have put atleast like 25% of what you want to put, just to get into the game and see how it goes.

Hi revhappy,
Errr.

The more u move around the more the virus will spread.

The more poor animal husbandry, the more stressed the animals are, the more the virus will breed.

The more money u print, the wider the wealth inequality, the more stressed people, the more the virus can mutate and spread.

The more carbon emissions, the more stressed and desperate wildlife species get and thus intermingle, the more the virus can jump the species boundary.

Mankind need a rethink, otherwise better evolve better vaccines or have the UN coordinate lockdowns for all.

Otherwise, better to retreat a bit and think about how our lifestyles can impact our environment less....

Dow is going vertical!

In the past, a GME level event that leads to a major broker potentially going bankrupt would have lasted 2 to 3 weeks. The uncertainty would have bred fear which would have led to longer and wilder swings in the market.

Now, thanks to detailed micro order flow data, the whole event is complete in under 3 days with the market rebounding to where it was before. Robinhood survived and were able to literally raise billions in days by showing their backers their data.

My hypothesis is that what we are seeing is not irrational buy the dip millennials buying the dip. Rather I see this as a quantum jump in market efficiency brought about by advances in trading technology. These increases have compressed the duration of corrections. In so doing, it has reduced uncertainty and dampened the magnitude of corrections.

Supporting this hypothesis is the way in which the market reacts to economic releases like non farm payrolls. Previously you had moves which would last the whole session. These days the move in response to an unexpected number is over in less than 15 minutes. So much so that it is now no longer viable to trade economic news releases.

Something to think about going forward...

Hmm! Very interesting hypothesis.

If you are right, it means that previously, the bottleneck for price changes is at the brokers and exchanges. Now that they have improved efficiency, the bottleneck is now at the news sources? Wow, would that cause even more price manipulation for the people who 'know it first'?

There has been a quantum jump in news as well. Previously you had to rely on trading news feeds. These days, my twitter feed is sometimes faster than my trading news feeds.

Hmm, so where do you think the bottleneck is now?

I think you know what I am getting at, the bottleneck is where there is the most potential for manipulation.
