Yesterday I posted this... today my colleague resigned

Anyway, I'm thinking of taking a 1 year or 6 months of career break.

Background story and more info (below in reddit) and my crush (who used to be a close colleague but not anymore) resigned today.

I don't feel like working anymore, which is why I wanted to take a break from work.

I've totalled up my expenses (credit bills and parents allowance) for the past 1 year.

I have enough liquid assets (cash + MMF) and future dividends to safely last 2 years.

Please encourage or discourage me from taking a career break. Previously I wanted to take a few months off (2 weeks of reservist + 6 weeks of leave) but I can't since my colleague resigned today.

Take a break. Later can hoot more. 😁

if you financial sufficient, then yes. take a break. but job market is not looking good at the moment. might need to expect being jobless for a longer period of time.

Concert change from BKK to KL? Wasted money on the ticket. Maybe you can solo a trip for holiday somewhere in December

If you are just tired and don't want continue with company .... Can consider quitting if company don't let you take sabbatical...

But try not to be unemployed more than 6 months...

You should know IT moves fast... 1 year out of workforce might be deem obsolete.

I got a friend who quit (not IT) and went got some studies and career break. But end up few years still unemployed. Maybe resume not so good or he abit low self esteem, don't dare apply for roles which he can only fit less than 50% of experience.

FP would ask J-Probe to help buy ticket for them to go together, then bail on both the trip and ticket... or worse, sexpose J-Probe's section and seat number here

come to think of it, quite fitting, last time he sexpose moi at Popeyes', now sexpose J-Probe at Wendy's
Popeyes still there
