"This is Singapore, and we do not have region free players that are available in stores" well i just want to correct this....have but you had to pay for it

Techidiot just wanna suan my comment anyways i was just sharing what i know....everything comes at a price is whether you can afford it or not if you had only a budget of $300 for a player i won't laugh at you as well....but you won't get everything from the player

I stand by my statement
You can’t get a region free player Now in stores ..

I'm looking to buy a new 4K UHD player, after discovering my rather old blu-ray player's disc tray is not working (I opened it up to see but could not determine why it is not moving).

I was using a LG blu-ray 5.1 home theatre system as I wanted an upgrade over the TV's speakers (I'm no audiophile so don't need high end speaker system), my TV is LG and there was a good deal for a display set then at Courts.

I checked out Courts' website and strangely they don't list LG players anymore. I noted that the Sony X700 seems to be rather popular here, but then Courts is selling the Sony BDVE2100 5.1 home theatre system for just $10 more (before discount) and it fits my ideal choice in getting an all-in-one system.

So while it would make sense for me to get the Sony BDVE2100, but would like some opinions/other recommendations from experts here. Thanks!

Oops! Thanks for pointing that out, I was previously under the impression that the home theatre set's player is a 4K UHD player. Hmmm... are there any 4K UHD player that is part of a home theatre set that would be more economical than buying player and speakers separately?

Hi bro. I am also looking for a Sony 4K UHD player and read your review on the X800, which I believe you can't get from the Sony stores here.

Can I check if the X700 measures up to it? Can we get the X800 model anywhere in Singapore?

Thank you.

There are very limited models available here.
You can use Amazon SG to bring in the X800. According to users at stereonet, it's a dual voltage model:

Hi bro

Thanks. Decided to go for the X700 when I saw that Amazon SG was selling it at less than $300.

https://www.amazon.sg/gp/product/B07XXS5FVQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

That's more than $50 cheaper than Sony Singapore's year-end sale price.

if you are looking for all-region players, try here:

https://www.220-electronics.com/region-free-blu-ray-players/shopby/4k_ultra_hd_blu_ray.html

the players sold there are hacked so that they become all-region

After getting my X700, I realized I am not able to play my Code 1 DVDs. Blu-rays are no issue. Only DVDs.

Anyone know of any shops here that can modify the player? Or if there are any local shops selling code free and region free players? If not, I may get from Amazon SG and sell off my X700.

Thanks.
