$500 can buy Seiko automatic watches, tons of choice. Same for Orient. If you want swiss brand, some Hamilton, Tissot, Mido, can be had for around this price when on sale. If you don't mind less well known swiss made brands.. Davosa, Steinhart, Squale, also have.

If u are feeling the rolex itch, buy Tudor. I bought the black bay (rolex quality bracelet and case) and the itch disappeared. Of cos the bracelet is no where submariner glidelock but good enough.

That's a shop near peace center area (not familiar becoz seldom go there)

Went once with parent - the shop claim to sell limited edition gold plated auto watches, they have one model - for sg50

Parent think look quite nice on newspapers ad

Sure enough - very heavy, very ugly gold plated watch selling for a few thousand

One look, will turn and walk away

small shop had no other customers and just 2 china woman as sales

They claim many people

Buy before becoz is limited edition

Give them credit - when asked, they did say only some
Parta are Swiss technology, the watch casing etc all from China and assembled in China

After long sales talk, parent in the end didn't buy

Not for anything, the watch is really ugly and no style

Wear and straight away he person will look cheap and poor taste in style

No care where you live or what car you drive

It just screams - poor taste

Put what movement, made in where, price point aside, the face very messy, not really nice

hamilton and tissot do have cheaper auto watches tat are at this price range btw quartz arent necessarily inferior, 1 of the most interesting quartz watch in the world is from bulova, the accutron series, accuracy and precision can fight and may even beat most rolex or seiko grand

It is a know fact that any cheap Quartz (Casio, etc) will keep it's time way better than a mechanical Rolex or GS, unless you're talking about Super Quartz or other atomic time keeping devices.

Ok I read through more carefully liao. Auto chrono under $500 is hard la I dunno any. Auto divers under $500 is plenty.

Go to skywatches and see see their online selection, then either go to K2 and buy or buy from skywatches or elsewhere. Use skywatches prices as a benchmark so that you won't get chop carrot.

Yes like everyone said at 500 should look at the Japanese Seiko, Orient or Citizen. Maybe if possible look at Tissot and Hamilton
