Issue is, that is exactly what they are doing, by design.....
From 1st July, need to take the red path only.....the colour and sign not very clear in the pic below of coz for this particular Yishun bus stop in question. It is similar for many other stops.

if japan such a big country can get all their bicycle to be registered and mandate all their cyclist to get mandatory 3rd party insurance, i don’t see why singapore such a small country cannot do so.

no political will

Pedestrians should not be allowed on cycling paths, and cyclists should stay off pedestrian paths. Clear separation will teach everyone to be more mindful of shared spaces. On shared paths, cyclists must slow down and exercise extra caution.

I’ve seen pedestrians wearing noise-cancelling earphones, completely unaware of approaching cyclists. The same type of pedestrian probably wouldn’t notice a car with a loud exhaust either. I’ve also seen people crossing roads without using pedestrian crossings, making no effort to check for oncoming traffic. Likewise, I once walked around a bend on a pavement and was nearly hit by a speeding cyclist who clearly couldn’t see what was ahead but didn’t slow down.

In Singapore, we have problematic behaviour on both sides, pedestrians and cyclists alike. Both groups must be held accountable.
The question is why need to have so big of a path for cyclists when they are not supposed to cycle abreast on road.

Just ban cyclist and make them cycle on the road.

Generally cycling paths are painted red, and the pedestrian paths are left as their original grey concrete colors.

Are you referring to PCN cycling paths? I don’t find them particularly wide, at least not the ones I’ve used. ;) Please share with me where you see wider ones.

As for main roads, cyclists are allowed to ride abreast only if there’s more than one lane.

A lot of them are low ses. Anyway I suggest to train up and bulk up. Cyclists won’t dare to mess with u if u look intimidating.

best solution is install grilling to force cyclist to stop and dismount.
That isn't practical at bustops, especially that path behind the busstop which is clearly meant for the cyclists to pass through.

There is no need for grilling there as compared to the grilling at the void decks near lift lobbies.

normally cyclist will go behind the bus stop so as to avoid commuters waiting or boarding the bus in front what
isnt that why there's a space behind most bus stop nowadays?

why this ah pek go stand behind the bus stop?
Probably the sun is at a angle and ah Pek want to stay inside the shade.

That is not an excuse for remaining in the PCN path that is behind the bus stop. There are still shaded areas in the sheltered bus stop.

Having dismount and push sign for this issue

Is like pouring a cup of water to a forest fire

Totally useless

No cyclist. I repeat. No cyclist. Will care about the sign
Govt spent millions building cycling path as per their demands, cycles on pedestrian path
