why bring up shenzhen?

if a project needs more time because of certain conditions like soil issues or other site challenges then there’s nothing wrong with a longer construction period. and if delays were due to covid restrictions, which are no longer in place, things should eventually speed up and the project may be handed over earlier.

for now, HDB’s stated completion date remains the same maybe later on, when things are clearer, they can give a more accurate handover date.

No lor. Mine also Nov 22 bto and they gave quite long period to build. Got ppl wrote into ask and they replied due to stated deadline. They will not increase building speed even when restrictions are gone.

Even this Punggol Point Cove also took 7 years to build finish. It's not super high rise either. I remember seeing under construction before covid. One day came back to the same area saw still haven't finish, damn shocking.

once they start building the stacks, the progress usually quite standard, like one floor per month. from there, you can roughly gauge how fast the bto will complete.

what ppl buay song is why later projects can be faster but earlier projects that gives longer dates due to supply chain and covid measure times still never speed up? since all those restrictions are gone.

these ppl better open their eyes and vote correctly next time.

I think HDB and the builders contractors also sianz...

Already done the planning for the construction liao plan for works and manpower at the given cost.

Suddenly have to recall back for meetings and replanning to satisfy angry peasants with pitchforks and touches just because other sweeter deals are offered after contract signing

https://www.8days.sg/entertainment/local/yishun-bto-long-wait-848766

Vanda Breeze comprises 961 units, and includes 2-room, 3-room, 4-room, and 5-room flats.

The nearby Yishun Glade BTO project that is due to be launched in an upcoming exercise this month is said to have a wait time of less than three years. It has 561 units consisting of 2-room and 4-room units.

Yet-to-launch new project nearby will have an earlier slated completion date... no wonder dulan :s13:
Yishun Glade that place is a very small plot of land, no need clear forest, and roads are all open to transport supplies. I asked the bangala worker there, he said its just a few blocks of 2 rooms, 4 rooms and 1 multi storey carpark, thats all. And they actually started building in Aug/Sep 2025, even before the applications open. Thats why loh so fast.

My BTO over 40 storeys. Only take 5 years to build...

Anyway I think they complain because they expect those old BTO that haven't complete should have priority over newly launch BTO which take less than 3 years to build.
Doesn't work like that.

It's the same logic as cannot change units if the family already bought a unit in that BTO and SBF got better units available.

Ok ... Chiobu liplai liao!

Time to change my tune!

Seriously legal contract or not, HDB being Singapore's chief and national housing developer under MND, has the natural obligations to look into speeding up this project even if it needs to top up funding to expedite.

People and families lives are affected by this long wait legal bindings or not. Hdb mission is 居者有其屋- every qualified citizens owns a bto. If it fails to provide in good and reasonable times, it fails its mission.

*Makes the Bangala worker day got chiobu come talk to him:o
