I am aware that shortcuts can be created but can it create a shortcut leading directly to a sub-folder within a folder in a NAS, i.e. i do not need to access the top folder first?

Yes it has the same UI as HD2 and shortcuts can be created. The response and scanning of HDD is faster.

Yes it does. Here is an example four folder deep NAS: Media > Video > 1080P > Action folder

Action Folder is added to my Shortcut list. You can even add to shortcut the video itself inside the Action folder.

Hi,

Its a simple webkit browser. It can work but not as fast and fluent as the full web browser, also a website that require plugins will not be supported.

New HD3? woot

Hi, I have a few questions here:-

1) What is the transfer speed over Gigabit ethernet? HD2 "gigabit" speed is pathetic 8-10 Mbytes/s.

2) What is the transfer speed over USB 3.0? If the CPU is too slow it will not utilize the full potential of USB 3.0

3) Is the remote control a lot diff than HD2?

TQ

With proper sharing permission and stable network connection "Yes" the player can play directly all media files from the NAS.

Indeed. U dont need to install an internal HDD or attach any device to the USB port to play files directly from your NAS.

1) What is the transfer speed over Gigabit ethernet? HD2 "gigabit" speed is pathetic 8-10 Mbytes/s.

- The gigabit port is not meant for data transfer, the port was upgraded to fix some of those issue arising from playing back from a network source.

2) What is the transfer speed over USB 3.0? If the CPU is too slow it will not utilize the full potential of USB 3.0

- Using the player as slave drive, the potential of reaching USB 3.0 speed might and can be achieve.

3) Is the remote control a lot diff than HD2?

- The remote is totally the same as HD2
