AC Ryan very 1st Android Tablet

Totally disappointed with the AC Ryan service, keep on postponing the delivery.

And after listen to all the product issue, i think i will never ever buy from them again.

Lesson earned, cheap but definitely poor and slow.

Feedback review on ACR Tab 7:

Received this product today morning, due to delay from the delivery company. And head to charge up the ACR Tab7, it wun boot up during unboxing. Therefore no choice, got to charge and test the tab.

1st View:
Screen display (4.5/5)
Battery temperature (3.5/5) *It does feel heat up at the RIGHT side area.
Lock button aka ON/OFF button(3.5/5) *Take awhile during the unlocking for devices from sleep mode (*Auto shutdown occurs very often without you knowing it's shutdown //require AC to boot up again) **Worst then a T-JB on new iPad.
Responding speed (3.5/5)
APK installation (3.5/5) *You will feel lag when you try to install multiple APK at once (est. 4 apk)
Touch screen respond(3.5/5) *You will find sometime you try to press 7,8,9 or 0 on the keyboard, it will randomly give u some others alpha or numeric that you dun wan.

*base on personal experience only

Overall: this device is like BETA devices (Which first launch during SG IT show), therefore it's NOT A WORTH to get tis tab even the price is cheaper from others brands. As it require more Firmware update from AC Ryan team, else with tis type of problem I believe most of us can't really comment on it further after playing on this tab.

*But if AC Ryan technical team would provide updates via internet, I believe it will make this tab performance better compare to the current stages.

For those that has "AUTO Shutdown" & "Screen respond" issue, do feedback to them. Else with such issue, rather dump at home better.

I did not pre-order, but wish to know after this batch of pre orders are in, when will actual one comes in?

1st August 2012 is what i heard from a AC Ryan rep in Challenger, any information from you?

Seems like a half baked product in terms of a tablet, seems more likely a bigger size portable video player only... =(

disappointed with ac ryan. still not recieved the tablet because delivery issue. pushing blame to singpost. no reply from ac ryan when i call them to get their management to talk to me. giving their reputation a bad name. After seeing feedback from other members about power shutdown issue, thinking of returning product back..Will consult with CASE---- Lemon Law

Collected mine on Sun afternoon, after a call in the morning which gave me no clues to where the item was. Fortunately, was still home when courier came.

Likes
Screen (viewing angles, colours, etc.) is decent.
Mobility factor keeps my 1st gen iPad at home, but needs tethering from phone when outside. Else will be de facto media player if going out. Playback is smooth, for all my 720p videos.
External storage = good, USB = even better.
Sound is loud, but back facing means need redirecting or earphones.
Provided microSD storage comes with some apks.

Dislikes
A little sluggish, responses like my 1st gen Galaxy S.
ROM used is not optimised - Bluetooth option but no Bluetooth hardware
Limited support from AC Ryan - what's new?
Can't charge using mobile chargers bought together?


Will be testing the hdmi thingy soon. Hope it doesn't disappoint.

I think at this moment, there is no solution for this as it is firmware problem. Ac ryan replied and advised me not to use AC power to charge the phone.

Maybe you should try charging the tab until full first, the autooff will not happen that frequent.

Did you charge for first 8 hours for your tab?
Wad u mean by not to use AC power to charge the phone?

It's a BETA product. Sure lots of problem.

NO Support given from ACR technical team.
Touchscreen is not responding to our finger touch... keep run out of sync ... I really wish that the ACR people in-charge of HWZ can assist us and not just get the deal and run away.

Finally recieved the tablet. opened box and power up the tablet. was successful with 70% power indicated. started running a few apps when it powered down. cannnot start up again, only able to power up after plugging to the charger. Sad...... next thing to happen was with the charger plugged in, i experienced apps starting up and closing just by holding the sides of the tablet. Strange thing is with charger unplugged, the tablet returns to normal. Funny, that means i cant touch the tablet while it is charging. Things to note: Bluetooth is unable to enable. Flash drive plugged in but i cant access the video inside. 3G dongle plugged in but i cant access the required network. Touch screen response was a bit retarted. ONLY PLUS POINT was the video player,with usb transfer from PC to memory card the video output was solid, hdmi output to TV was also no doubt the best......

Sad to say that in some cases it is already out of our control if the delivery was delayed or moved by the courier company itself, the courier never inform us about it that is why you never hear any update from us regarding such issues. We can only assure you that the collection is been arranged and pick up by the courier at the proper time.

Regarding the unit shutting down automatically, we apologize from what you have experienced. Please give me some time to check this on my part to really verify what had caused the problem, for now we can treat it as a bug.

For those who are affected by this, please let me know:
-What is the percentage level of the battery before it shuts down
-Is the issue repeatable, always or once in a while.
-Help me know what are you doing or running when it shut down.

I will make this case as a priority and check with our developers in order to give you a concrete answer and a solution as soon as possible. Sorry for any inconvenience.

got auto shutdown twice when just received, but after charge overnight, can use from 100-0% battery, no auto shutdown, after second charge also no auto shutdown. Will update if it happen again. Hopefully not.
Battery last for 5-6 h with playing online movie or youtube continuously.

For this I just felt that we needed to adjust the sensitivity of the tab. I will need to verify this again with the latest software that we will receive, tomorrow we will start testing it.
