Maybe I remember exact questions wrongly....

Process costing also another killer topic- equivalent units, value of finish goods , value of CWIP ...especially FIFO method. ..makes me feel like walking out of the hall straight away.

oh that's a difficult topic, never really understood the WIP topic too. For my 14 papers, 12 i took at SAA, 2 at LSBF.

Generally more interested in finance sector but worried that ACCA wont get me there.
Backup plan will be audit/acc field. Heard audit/acc field requires tax knowledge.
For the other opt, Im choosing adv audit for sure.

You can even do P4 + P5 and start off in audit. Even if you are worried that you may not land finance as a first job, but subsequent years when an opportunity arises you also can hop over. Generally there are two ways to choose, do the paper that you are interested in or do the paper which you think that you can get a higher mark.

i took last sitting for P5 under Roy. I think he's a great lecturer, very dedicated and always willing to answer your queries. he likes to nag and can be a little long winded at times

he will teach you exam techniques and how to tackle questions and that gives you more confidence in answering the examiner's demanding requirements.

i would say go for him definitely.

Kaplan vs LSBF

Hey peeps, just want to hear you views over these 2 schools over F6 (tax) and P1 (Governance ethics)

Kaplan: Joanne Cheong (F6)
LSBF: Yvonne (F6)

Kaplan: Andy Tan (P1)
LSBF: Dominic (P1)

I know yvonne is good but how's Joanne, Andy and Dominic?

Any views will be appreciated!

Some of my friends who took under Andy says he's not bad and somewhere in this forum another said he's dedicated. I would not recommend Dominic though... But some are supporters of him. I dunno about this Joanne, can't help u on that

assume that i PASS and HAVE the Advance Diploma in Accounting and Business, and also PASS the Professional Ethics module.

does that mean that i am ACCA Qualified? or do i still need to have the 3 years of relevant working experience? also according to the FAA-N16, am i exempted from the M8 module or can i use ACCA as a M8 equivalent?

F6 yvonne.. took revision under joanne for F6 because yvonne doesnt do revision class for my intake. my main class was under yvonne. joanne's teaching is okay imo, but i cant really stand her voice haha.

took dominic for P1 revision because shermeen tan (not in kaplan already) doesnt do revision class for my intake too. his notes is okay, but he speaks so fast and his handwriting is so hard for me to decipher.

overall, still did ok for both papers.

You are only an ACCA after you have finished all 14 papers in ACCA and have accumulated 3 years experience(accountancy related). Finished with advanced diploma at most you could call yourself a acca professional level candidate.

FAA-N16. No idea.

Thanks for your reply! ya I'm just worried about Dominic of his accent..

I'm hesitating between these lecturers is also because of the discounts as currently, LSBF offers only 10% (with revisions included) while Kaplan offers 40%.

I attended sami's. Used to his style and like it because he kept doing questions to help understand the application easier.
My friend said Roy will spend time on talking about theories so i think also not bad. My take is if you had started on roy or sami before, just follow the same lecturer throughout to make learning faster because no need to adjust to different lecturer's style.
