I wan to ask if im going into army on early oct .. is it feasible to take f4 and f5 together for the december paper or take either one of them? I plan to self study as i have cover some of the topics during poly and i can start studying now. Thx alot..

if u are going for BMT in oct, u wont have time for revision, not advisable to sign for exam.

ya it is a 1-time fee. the package consists of 2 tutorials + 1 presentation. tut1 guides u how to prepare ur report, tut 2 guides u how to write the learning experience. the presentation of cos is to present ur proj to the grp.

other than the 2 tuts, u r on ur own, but u can email ur mentor to ask for advice. the proj submission dates are april and nov each yr i think. so if u signed now, u got 5mths to do it or even 10mths if u opt to submit in april.

oic thanks.

I guess I'll check at SAA first.

For paper F1, 1 week is more than enough. :s13:

F2 and F3 needs much more preparation definitely...with lots of practices.

so tough yet ACCA is not so highly valued by employers :(

ACCA is best described as a beast without fangs. Give it a pair of fangs (degree) and it will bite.

Because anyone can graduate from ACCA, employers want the added assurance that they're getting a "quality candidate". And that added assurance is your first degree. That is the reason why CFA and ACA requires a recognised degree for admission.

i find a lot of designations pretty pointless if you don't hold a first degree. But ACCA is a bit different since it was designed not with degree holders in mind, but designed for mass acceptance. It's a smart strategy since the sheer number of members in your organization is enough to give it political weight.

Didnt ACCA has a tie-up with Oxford Brookes University. So one can get a degree together with the ACCA?

prob is for OBU, juz need to write a 6500 words essay can earn u 2nd upper honour degree in applied accounting, how much can an employer values such degree? when they ask for ur transcipt, all we can show is our acca level 2 results and they will be puzzled how come got such degree exist when there is no need to complete any modules.

but if u dun have 1st degree and didnt do OBU, with juz acca, employer will ask u why didnt u do the degree? so safest bet is to do OBU to make urself more outstanding than normal acca grad. hopefully private sector employers are more acceptance toward the degree.
