for those who were like me contemplating taking acca live online, do it! it is at least 40% cheaper than attending classes in saa (which is already the cheapest) and the best part - no need to buy books since it is provided in softcopy. help me save another $80/paper. and touch wood, if fail, they will give a "warranty" of the same paper for the next following exam for free.

i took the plunge since it sounded the most logical to me, a working father. all i want is something affordable, good passing record and need not attend evening classes.

dunno for me attending class is the way to go..
tried listening to open tuition lecture for P4.. but really abit hard to absorb, maybe is just me

Not very sure what do you mean by written off within a year.

If you mean the asset is depreciated 100% per year as per company depreciation policy, the net book value will be zero. In the balance sheet, the amount shown will be full cost minus full accumulated depreciation = 0.

For low cost asset, we do not usually capitalised. We usually treat it as an upkeep of fixed assets and thus is expensed in the year that it is incurred.

In the accounting context, write off means to remove the assets from the FA register. This happens when the company no longer use that asset due to various reasons such as damage.

No need. Currently 2 sittings per year (june and dec). Next year onwards is 4 sittings per year (march, june, september and december).

U can do up to a max of 4 papers per sitting. If fail just retake that paper alone.
