Looking for feedback on which tutor i should choose for P2- Roy or Sami?

Took F7 with Roy and thought that his classes are average. Would it be wise of me to switch over to Sami (different technique approaches)?

P6 November 2016 Revision Class

Dear All,

Would appreciate some feedback. I am considering which revision class I should go for:-
- LSBF Yvonne Goh? (Took her class last year and near my office. Understand that there are some changes for 2016 exam)
- FTC Chantel Wan ? (Was thinking maybe i shd go for a change of style since it is not the first time i taking this paper. School is further from CBD though and i m not sure whether it may not be as effective if i had never took her main classes b4)

Thanks in advance to feedback.

Hi all. Will need some suggestions
I was from diploma in accountancy in SP. Didnt study at all graduated with 2.7 gpa. I am in NS now

Am considering either
- ACCA
- Sim Uol
- take A levels to go local uni (impossile)

Looking at acca vs uol,

acca pros
-I have up to F6 exemptions
-Able to apply for CA after completion

Cons

-acca is professional cert not a degree.

So if i were to do something else other than accounting it will not be recognised?

what is the something else? sales? IT engineer? lawyer? doctor? taxi driver?

although ACCA isn't an academic qualification, it is still prestigious in its own way. being a CA opens even more opportunities.

i did my ACCA a few years back and is currently a CA and SIATP member

ACCA Holder
As an ACCA Holder, you can opt to do the OBU degree. Upon completion, you would be consider a degree holder. This degree is necessary to gain entry into some of the master programme. In terms of career prospect, employer do recognise your ACCA certificate.

In addition, you can also further your studies in Msc UOL. With regards to whether ACCA can become Singapore CA, this is subject to the terms of RMA which will be announced soon. Since you are serving NS, you may consider taking the course now.

Sim UOL

If you take the UOL degree, you would still need to go for the SQP examinations.

any experience within accounting umbrella would suffice to qualify as a CA. i did accounting for 1/2 year or so follow by advisory - corporate restructuring and insolvency for 1 & 1/2 years and thereafter, full sets accounting, tax, secretarial till date.

how's the work life balance when with the job scope of advisory for corporate restructuring and insolvency? was this under a big 4 firm?

Guys I have been thinking of this for a while and have decided to share with you my serious career stumbling obstacle and dilemma on what I should do going forward.

I have currently an ACCA full member and CA member paying the full yearly subscription fees.

As of now my qualifications are only ACCA. I do not have a degree. I have been working for the past 8 years with various companies doing accounting/finance/audit/financial analyst jobs

However I am already starting to feel the burn out as I lost my passion and drive for the industry. There have been major obstacles which I have faced and facing now with regards to high expectations and I feel that with my current state, I don't think I will be able to excel further. And my introvert and timid nature only aggravates this.

I want to be able to explore other options or even a career switch. But considering that I have spent the past more than 10 years to reach where I am right now, I don't know if it's a wise choice.

I have been quite directionless for the past few months and I have grown very fearful of what my bleak career prospects would be like if I continue like this. Furthermore I have plans for marriage and settling down, so this is becoming a very serious problem.

Any career guidance or counselling advice is welcomed.

Hello guys,
I'm currently an NSF and just completed my ACCA F1-F3 so I have the diploma awarded already. I'd like to gather some advice if it would be wise for me to continue the whole ACCA qualification concurrently while I am due to enter NUS BBA next year. Not sure if I'd be able to cope with the workload (I'd probably focus less on ACCA), but would it be advisable to pursue a degree in business admin and go for the ACCA qualification at the same time?
