Can't comment about other Lecturers as I only took ghan for f2 and F3. He teaches well and clear. I doubt you will miss much comin in at 7pm as he more than often starts at 7pm. If you are under him, LSBF notes are sufficient already if you are attentive in class. Also it depends on your effort. I scored really well for both papers, but my classmates just average.

Do the revision questions ahead of the revision class. So that you can ask him if you're unsure. His pace is slow so he can't finish going through all questions in class. You have to take extra effort to prepare in advance. You can ask questions after class. He won't run away (unlike one of my SAA lecturer.. :s22: )

With regards to BPP, I know kinokuniya sells them. But if you don't mind soft copies, online has all of them latest version for free. :D

Thanks flyingeagles for your write-up. Hope I can be attentive after work. :) For F1 you self study by reading the bpp textbook only? Thanks didn't know can find it online :D I try to search it online but can't find the latest version in 2018.

Hi,

The thread seem quiet. Now lesser people taking ACCA?
Anyone can advise which lecturer is better for Lsbf or Kaplan? Have a hard time choosing. Their July intake timetable is not out yet so not sure the lecturers will be the same?
For F1 paper , it's ok to self study or go for revision class only? The paper all all mcq?
Lsbf - F2 & F3 Ghan Shyam Dubey
Kaplan - F2 Mikki Ng, F3 Kelly Ngo (Anyone heard of them, are they good?)

Which school is better for course notes and revision kits, past years papers? Both has online notes if in class can't manage to take down notes? Can't use the skillsfuture credits?

TIA!

Kaplan has better textbooks and revision kits. The lecturers will upload the notes to the online portal. Can use skillsfuture credits for selected papers.

Hi, are the Kaplan lecturers for F2 & F3 good? Thanks. I saw the skillsfuture credits for acca for selected papers are only from Kaplan. Look like Lsbf don't have it and more expensive?

You can only go to Kaplan to use your skillsfuture credits. Lsbf is more expensive because of their full-time tutors.

Agree with above
If you rly want to go for class for f2/3 go Kaplan for skillfuture credits. Doesn't rly matter where or whom you learn from for these subjects.

Otherwise self study is stufficient.

When you proceed to higher levels, celebrity teachers mainly at LSBF with some in SAA.

Just some fun fact Ghan was a student of Sami. So I believe they have same style ???

Use of Skills Future Credit

Both Kaplan and FTMS are on SkillsFuture portal now. Writing in to both schools to enquire about doing F1-F3, to get the Diploma in Accounting and Business.

Not going into accounting career anytime soon, doing this purely for self-improvement and to utilise the SkillsFuture credit. :p

advice welcome. :)

F1 to F3 are pretty basic, you will pass if you put in effort. Pass rates are quite high compared to higher level exams.

You can get a diploma in accounting and business from ACCA by passing F1-F3 exams. Pass rates are quite high compared to higher level exams. You should have no problem in passing if you put in time and effort. Free materials are available from opentuition.com for self study.

hi! i am thinking of doing ACCA or a private uni degree. I am currently an accounts assistant doing AP in MNC earning 2.7k... currently have 2 yrs experience.
Would like to know if i want to continue working in MNC in accounting, which one will help in my career? I surveyed the jobs searching website yesterday and mostly looking for dip/deg and never state ACCA. I'm not planning to take the CA or CPA after that..

You can get an accounting degree after completing F1-F9 exams and a research project.
