Just saw FTMS price quite exp.....?! I would suggest F4 and F5 as well. But take SAA.

If you want good teacher for F5 can go LSBF. Not sure about FTMS facilities and other services provided to student, but for the price you're paying at FTMS, you get online notes, online textbooks as well at LSBF.
I heard FTMS and SAA are having open house events soon, can get good discounts there if you plan to sign up. Their bpp books are better than lsbf.

Seek advise

Hi, would like to seek an advise whether to take a private uni accounts degree or to take an ACCA with BPP? I only have diploma in business (banking & finance), exempted for F1 - F3, so I am working full time as an AR right now, so I am not too sure which step I should go for it.

As I know ACCA is a professional cert, but still i will still be considered as a diploma grad with ACCA (if i complete), if not I am just stuck as a diploma grad.

Any advise? Please PM me, thank you!

You can get an UK Honours degree after completing F4 to F9, and/or a Masters degree after completing all exams.

ACCA - Schools

Hi All,

I'm planning to start ACCA this coming July. However, I'm unsure which school should I go to for lessons. From what I've research, LSBF seems to have the celebrity tutors, do they really make a very big difference? Can anyone advise?
Also, is it advisable for me to take F6(tax) anf F8(audit) together?

Thank you in advice!:)

Go to lsbf if you prefer full-time to part-time tutors.

Take something that is link to each F7 (FRS) + F8 so you can apply what you learn in F7 on F8 also.

Lecturer makes a big difference, they can guide you how to improve exam technique.

I am planning to take f8 first then f7 first. Will it be hard for me since I have no f7 knowledge?

Actually, I've took Accounting and Finance from UOL previously and thus I'm exempted from F7. However, somehow I'm not exempted from Audit and thus I'll have to take it again. So would it be alright for me to take Audit and tax together?

Definitely. I took them together just last week. Tax was rather straightforward compared to audit. You should be able to pass tax very easily. But to score well you'll need to be 100% sure on all the tax rules, which may be a burden when doing audit at the same time.

Took Yvonne goh's classes for tax- she speaks fast and is straight to the point. I was the only one who bugged her with questions after classes but she didn't seem to mind. And she was really polite too. Didn't take classes for any other of my papers however. I doubt you'll need classes for F8 since you already took Audit back in UOL though. :s13:

Just curious- why take ACCA after graduating from UOL? Is UOL degree really useless? (which is what I've heard from some)

Since you have the background I dont think it will pose an issue to you.

I also thought I won't have to take Audit, but F8 wasn't in the list of modules that I'm exempted:( I've written in to ask and am still waiting for them to get back.
Personally I won't feel UOL's Accounting and Finance is totally useless though. It might just not be as comprehensive as ACCA, for example there's no tax in UOL.
Also, sometimes I feel like I don't know enough:s22:
There's also this dilemma between going for SQP vs going for ACCA
However, SQP will require me to work in their accredited training centres
Haiz
Anyone facing the same dilemma?:s11:
