Hi,

Anyone know where I can find the tutorial class fee for Kaplan and SAA? Or is the current fee inclusive of tutorial and revision?

Thanks for the update. May I know where can I search for the fee for tutorial and revision?

I know SAA usually has separate fee for revision and tutorial but this time round, they changed their brochure......

Hi Raoul,

Would like to check when there will be a crash course for P1?

I would really wish to prepare myself for P1 by knowing the rough outline of it.

Thank You.

Hi

Good question. Time has run out before the end of the year, but I may do an intro session overviewing the P1 Paper in the New Year some time. If you give me your email address, I can send you a fairly detailed overview of what the Paper is getting at, how best to study it etc.

I think you will find that at many colleges, the person selling you the course (at the counter) has no idea about the actual exam dates and potential clashes, and thinks that as long as their own classes do not clash, there cannot be a problem!

I bet loads of students get to exam entry date and find their combination is impossible, even though the college sold them the classes.

Anyone else can confirm this statement ? if level 2 left with only F7 while P1 and P3 already passed, the candidate can only take F7 in the next sitting, and he cannot take the option papers

I think I may find myself in this dilemma...piangz *facepalm :s27: Level 2 I am left with F7 while I have passed P1 and just took P3 in the recent sitting. I was supposed to take F7 in this sitting too but due to my new job giving me too much over time (til 12-1am :s22:), I decided to drop F7 3 weeks before the exam. AND... I just resigned 2 days ago... anyway irregardless whether I can take the option papers for next sitting, I have decided I MUST dumb the current job due to the insane hours...

arghhh seems like I gotta give Kaplan or ACCA Singapore a call to confirm my worst fear...

Yes, I can very much confirm this statement. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news :(

seems like ACCA very popular and lots of students studying la.. if not why so many tution provider.

It certainly is popular, is growing rapidly, and with the government pushing the accountancy sector here and looking to make Singapore an accounting hub in the region, I would imagine it will only grow further.

About time the likes of Kaplan, SAA and FTMS had some good quality competition I think!

Of cos. Most imptly, it is affordable as compared to private degree.

hi bro have u find out the reason why u keep failing?

no offence. not enough time to study since u woking full time?

I work 2 jobs so ya, not enough time is 1 factor. 2nd factor is my poor understanding of the modules, esp financial accounting portion.

I need to go back to basics now!

We run CIMA at our UK campuses, and whilst there I used to teach CIMA P3 - so if the demand exists in Singapore, why not?!

Are you doing CIMA?

yup, I have registered with CIMA but haven't taken the exam, got exemption in E1,P1, and P2. What do you think about CIMA? Are ACCA better than CIMA?Performance papers are hard right? I don't know why CIMA is not popular in here.

I think ACCA just dominates, so CIMA struggles to have a voice. When you see so many others doing a qualification, I guess it feels like it must be the one to do - yet in the UK, ACCA is probably viewed in a slightly lower position than CIMA and ICAEW, neither of whom have much of a name here (although both are trying to change this!)

And why doesn't LSBF offer the ICAEW programme in Singapore since it has better recognition in the world? The course fees held by ICP** are just too expensive for a professional qualification.

I assume you previously have worked in UK, so why do many people take CIMA in UK since in the UK is more developing in a service than manufacturing sector.
