Oh do you use lsbf and kaplan for p 3 too? I just got both pdf versions (kaplan textbook and revision kit + lsbf set from senior). I have only a month left and im self studying :/ which books would u recommend

I'm not studying p3 yet cause its kinda risky to take the exam this period. I'm still on my final f7 paper but I have been studying most of papers going for lsbf class and mainly using kaplan pdf at home for study/revision. It have worked well for me and I would carry on this practise for p papers

I feel kaplan tb is the best for self study as my friends mainly self study acca they uses kaplan materials only and passed at first try.

Haha I use kaplan pdf! Otherwise I would print it 2 on 1 at cheap cost also... *********

How many papers do you have left?

Pdf is good but I prefer physical books cleared P1 & P3 already haha

Yes SAA is cheaper but I feel that having the pdf notes up online is a great advantage.

That's why I'm using lsbf+kaplan combination!

I find BPP materials too wordy.. Kaplan gets straight to explaining to you and it's like someone is speaking to you.

LSBF material is just too summarised and messy...

There are only three Acca approved publishers globally, can easily get them online if you prefer soft copies.

The relevant working experience can be 3 years post qualification, or 5 years pre-post qualification, of which 1 year must be post-qualification.

From April 2018 to Dec 2018 is less than 1 year...

What is "relevant working experience"?

Relevant working experience refers to one or more accounting/finance technical skills acquired. These generally include auditing and assurance, finance, financial accounting, financial risk management, financial planning, insolvency and reconstruction, taxation, management accounting and academia. Relevant work experience can be in any sector or industry as long as your job scope includes accounting/finance functions.

For the fulfilment of 5 years pre and post qualification experience, please note that the criteria requires a minimum of 1 year post qualification experience.

As per the transitional arrangements, ACCA members are eligible for conversion to CA Singapore if:

1. They registered as a student on or before 31 July 2013
2. For a course that started no later than in 2013
3. Be registered as an Associate (ISCA) and
4. Complete the Pre-Admission Course (PAC) by 31 Dec 2018
5. Satisfy proficiency in Local Tax & Law (either by taking 2 papers or having 2 years of local working experience)
6. Satisfy relevant working experience by 31 Dec 2018.

If you don't meet the above requirements, you would have to
(i) take the Singapore CA Qualifications, or
(ii) gain membership of another professional body who has established Reciprocal membership (such as ICAEW)
(iii) wait and hope patiently for some future arrangements between ISCA and ACCA

to gain the designation Chartered Accountant of Singapore.

I've also read from another thread that if you are an ACCA member, you can obtain as many as 12 exemptions from ICAEW. It's possible to go ACCA > ICAEW > CA Singapore.

When in doubt, can always consult with ISCA directly!

Actually u no need to ask here. Go inside there will be very clear instructions wat to do de.Just focus on ur paper and don't worry too much on the admin stuff

If not wrong there are more than 12 papers in ICAEW. Furthermore if I studied singapore variant for F6 and F4, now I need to study tax and law for ICAEW since ICAEW is UK.

I tried finding classes in sg for ICAEW but seemed like there isn't much available online..

ACCA is internationally recognized. I don't really see the merits in getting a second professional membership.

Anyway I looked it up. ICAEW got 15 papers in total iirc. Exemptions for ACCA members are:

Not sure if you still need to clock working experience under their authorized trainers?

Might as well go for SQP in the first place if you really want to get CA Singapore.
