Hi,

Im actually thinking of taking this ACCA course but I have totally no background in accountancy. Can anyone advise me if I should take F1-F3 or just F1 and F2? Im working full time as well. And also, which sch is better? Kaplan or SAA? I couldn't see the lecturers provided by SAA.

Thanks.

Yes you can see the lecturers:

http://www.saa.org.sg/lecturers.html

Their website abit k*s, but it is under "Our Faculty" section, took me some time to find it last time.

F4 is not that tough, it is a law paper, but ACCA is more towards accounting, so they won't expect you to answer like a lawyer. F4 pass rate quite standard, not too low.

I read the brochure, you can still buy the textbook from them separately, at 50% discount. So it would cost like SGD40 each =S

My opinion:

ACCA grads would be accepted by big firms.

But everything else being equal, NUS/NTU/SMU accountancy degree would be preferred over ACCA.

Help I really have trouble filling up the PER.

So confusing. I really don't know whether I satisfy the requirement or not. I am teaching accounts (POA) at a local secondary school.

Any numbers I can call to find help?

F1-F3 should be relatively easy since exam format is MCQ. Can attempt att 3 at one sitting.

i think you can take all 3 papers at one seating. its really not that hard. like some of them said this is a mcq paper and for as long as you study you are gonna be okay. i remember when i first took acca, i actually took F1 to F4 together. and i passed all of them at one go, but of course i am a full timer. but i reckon the level one papers are relatively manageable.
