got my result, passed all but not very good marks... F7 need to secure 67 to confirm first class for OBU
F5 Perf. Man. 73 Pass
F6 SGP Tax. 69 Pass
F8 SGP Aud. & Ass. 64 Pass
F9 Fin. Man. 56 Pass
Wow nice... Congrats! Are you doing it full time? What's OBU?
yes kaplan full time student. OBU is brookes unversity BSc degree. ACCA students are generally opt in for the thesis, after completing the the papers to F9. the class and hounours of the paper will depend on how good your thesis is, as well as your results for F4-F9. generally, u only need a pass to garanteed a first class honours if u score 68 n average for F4-F9.

Thanks for sharing... I'm now considering if I should take full time ACCA instead. Looking at how my friends suffer to just get past ACCA while working full time really scares me!!
anyone know whhich lecturer is good for P3?
was deciding between Mr Andy Fang from kaplan and Mr Nageb from SAA?
the rest timeslot i not really free so any suggestion?
It is Andy Tan not Andy Fang. I am currently attending his P3 class. "Good" is an understatement. He is "Superb"!
He plans the course very well, wrote his own notes, gives weekly quiz ( He told us that he used to give written tests in his previous batches but he is now overloaded with classes so it is you-mark-on- your-own quiz every week). The weekly quiz gives you an idea what is expected from the P3 exam. He also offers to mark your script if you are hardworking enough to practise essays.
So far, I think he is sincere in helping his students to do well for P3.
Go for his class, you will benefit greatly.
thanks man! haha sorry i got the name wrongly but serious kaplan course fee is way to expensive still having some thoughts... anyway thanks!
No problem at all, pal : )
My opnion is let's not think about the cost in terms of course fee. Time is money and it is not easy to do P3 on your own. Kaplan offers extensive catch up lessons if you sign up for the August intake, on 27th and 28th August, to fill the gap on those 7 lessons you have missed.
Trust me, it is worth the money. This lecturer has excellent track record and he helped many students pass P3 on their first attempt.
Having said that, I hope I will pass on my first attempt too come this December, don't want to spoil his good track record. lol
Wish you best of luck and hope to see you in P3 class. : )
okay, let me go take out my course book...ha ha...
Topics covered:
Lesson 1 to Lesson 6
Strategic Analysis: Purpose, Internal Analysis and External Analysis
Lesson 7
Strategic Choice : Direction and Method of Growth
Lesson 8 will be conducted this Thursday 25th Aug (for my class), I think he will finish up with Method of Growth.
The catch up classes are on 27th and 28th, which means you will miss in total 8 lessons if you don't attend the catch up classes....don't worry, his notes and mind map will help a lot. If not you go straight to him, I believe he will be kind enough to guide you along to fill in the gap.
Taking all 3 papers at one shot seems ambitious, especially for P2 which needs a lot of time to practise questions....but there again it depends on your other committments.
I have other committments, so to play safe, I took P1 in June, P3 this Dec and will be taking P2 next June.
Hope all my advices help. : )
Hi!
Does anyone who had taken ACCA P6 Adv taxation for the June 2011 exam or will be taking in the next exam, know what is the study text for P6 (singapore variant)
Thanks
