ACCA OBU programme

Hello i have just completed the F7 exam and that would be my last fundamental paper. I would very much like to get the OBU applied accounting degree, but have a few questions for that. I hope you can provide some assistance. Some background about me is that I am currently working.

1) which provider to go for? Kaplan or LSBF? Both charge 800 since i am not their existing student.

2) what if I do not pass my F7 paper after registering for LSBF or Kaplan?

I was told that for LSBF, my mentor would be Ghan Shyam Dubey. Has anyone had any prior experience with him? Is he any good?

3) I am currently looking at topic 8. Any suggestions on how to approach it?

Thank you everyone!

Sorry tauweve, I did not opt for that so can't advise much but there should be people here who are able to advise. Just got to wait for them to post.

You just took ur f7 this year june? if so wait for the results then sign up with the school.

I will say that the schools do not provide much support for your research. You are mostly on ur own. Your mentor's main role is to ensure that you are on the right track.

I also did topic 8 and passed on the first attempt. I got most of my support from opentution forum so u can take a look over there. The support from the candidates over there is the main reason why I cleared the research paper on my first attempt.

I was also like you l, working and taking the obu at the same time. I was also taking p1 and p3 back then.

good luck

There's some changes to become Chartered accountant in Singapore. Holders of ACCA have to fulfill certain criteria to fulfill such as relevant experience, proficiency in local law and tax and successful completion of the ICPAS PAC,will have until 31st Dec 2016 to complete the ICPAS PAC, satisfy the proficiency in local law and tax and relevant work experience in order to qualify for the "Chartered Accountant of Singapore" designation.

CA singapore and ACCA is still in reciprocal agreement.

Hi seniors of acca students,

I have recently heard about the completion of acca by 31 dec 2018, I have not register acca yet as I still waiting for my poly cert and transcript but have bought the textbook and practice kit for f1-f3, can or does anyone tell me more about this information? Cos I don't think I can finish this acca from now to 31 dec 2018 as I decided to study all the f paper to P paper during ns. Does this affect me and should I register or not, because I thinking to register probably in next month.

Can anyone briefly or explained what is this completion of acca by 31 dec 2018 all about?

If you are used to sami's style then continue with him for P2. Similiar style but more complex questions and more theory. :s12:

Jim, looks like we're in the same boat.. U may want to refer to the replies i got from the seniors.
Im planning to take P1 & P3 next sem under Daniel Chee and Marty.

Hi ftnhelena, appreciate senior's advice. Actually I am thinking to take P1 (Daniel Chee) and P3 (Andy) but both clash at the same day. Headache now.
By the way, dunno whether can pass F8 this time. Still thinking should I take the P1 1st or wait till result come out.
