However, some people may argue, it is not necessary to obtain ISCA. CPA or ACCA is also accepted by commercial industry. Well... to be truthful about this issue. SQP is still a better option to obtain ISCA. All the SG companies and Gov authorities recognize it . But also the gov is pushing for the program. Eg. SG gov intro new rule all aml/kyc in accounting document to be sign by ISCA member. I believe it will be highly value by accounting industry in Singapore. For those people wished to working SG in accounting industry should pursue SQP or PE if they have the option now. Or other professional body

wanna reconfirm whether there's still SG variant for F8 and P1 papers in the upcoming dec'14 exam sitting? meaning if I take SG variant for all my papers, I'll also be taking SG variant for the aforementioned 2 papers right?

When you register for your exams in myACCA, you can select the variant. For P1 there is S'pore variant. Not too sure if theres still s'pore variant for F8. When you register your account myACCA would already know you are from s'pore so the drop down list should have it. You have only 3-4 days left to register for the dec seating FYI.

I'm very certain I opted for SG variant, just that I've heard from somewhere that SG variant for F8 has been abolished and on my exam entry, it stated "N/A", so I just want to make sure F8 papers only has international variant now? If so, we can't write local terminology anymore? ie. instead of SG Code of Corporate Governance, we have to write UK Code of Corporate Governance?

PS: I've registered for the exams during early bird period :)

Check your exam docket regarding the variant for your upcoming sitting. If it is international variant, it would be wise to look up on the differences between sg and uk code of cg.

All the best for your exams

Just checked. There is a "(Singapore)" for P1 whereas there's none for F8. I guess it's international variant for F8 then. Anyway thanks deepsky :)

Going to register with ACCA for next year june examinations. But i heard that we no longer be able to get CPA after 3 years of relevant experience after completion of ACCA. Is that true?

If yes, will going to ACCA still be a good choice? Where do I need to apply to after ACCA if ACCA do not offer the CPA title anymore?

Any knows? Please share, thanks!
