Acer Aspire one

Out of curiosity, I would like to ask, has any one modded their Acer One to include:
a) Touch screen
b) Inbuilt bluetooth
c) Internal GPS
d) 3G connectivity

I'm thinking of getting one to try out.

a) touchscreen is already done~ youtube has video on aspire one touchscreen~
d) i got use my brother's mobile broadband huawei thingy from singnet~
if i not wrong, its 3.5G~ and i do believe that if cant use the mobile broadband, singnet wont bundle the aspire one with 8MBPS already~ some more, aspire one is listed under internet companion~ if still not sure if it will work, bring your aspire one to hello shop and test~

B and C need to operate on the aspire one which will void the warranty~

yes its 6 cells.. and yes the Singnet Acer promotion comes with 6 cells..
in the local market, the 6 cells is bundled with xp home, 120GB HDD but according to anor forumer, there's a 160GB HDD version out there..

in overseas market, there's 6 cells for the Linux version, which also comes in a bigger HDD version...

yea man~ if its the 160GB also from singnet, den singnet has scammed us~
should call singnet and varify... or better still, print out the thread abt the 160GB singnet promotion from that other VRZone and bring to singnet and varify~

if singnet did indeed give out 160GB, its not fair for other 120GB ppl~
unless its the VRZone guy that changed the HDD~

Hi ppl,

I've seen in the forums that laptop cover and screen protector for the aspire one are available for sale. As everyone knows, the laptop ext is a fingerprint magnet ... so for the laptop cover, besides preventing scratches, does it eliminate the fingerprint magnet problem? As for the screen protector, since the aspire one's lcd is glossy, does it really reduces glare in bright sunlight? tks

i use the laptop cover for my acer one.. and i dun see any fingerprints on it after using it
as for anti glare.. i cant tell as i dun use my acer one under bright sunlight..

I just tried it out when viewing pics and webpage, i anyhow pan my fingers like zooming photo on iphone.... voila, it works!!!

I am in the market for a netbook and naturally am not also looking at Aspire 1. Its pricing is good now vs S10, Wind and 1000h as 160Gb and 6 cells are available.

Anyone could share what's the battery life for the 6-cell on average use - incl wifi on? Any complains on the relatively smaller screen? I must say the Aspire 1 looks good, just behind S10 in my ranking.

I haven't not tested it to the max... but after fully charged, and 3 hours using the comp surfing on WIFI, I still have more than 2 hours of battery life left

Thanks. The other drawback is the low res web cam I guess + the 9" screen. The design is nice though

I think it depends on what you want to use it for. I'm quite happy with it. If Singnet never have such offer, I dont think I will buy one. But after using, it changes my mind actually. At least bringing it around doesnt feel too heavy.

So now I'm a sucker to 2 extremes: mini netbook and 17inch gaming notebooks haha

This is exactly the deal that was quoted to me at Funan (digital one shop). I tot I'll wait till SITEX as the deal wont get worse than this i am sure!

Hey Fellow Aspire One Users,

I just collected my White Aspire One Laptop from Acer.

I have installed microsoft office 2003, firefox 3.0, dirx, Avira & Spt Bot into this babe.

I was wondering, how can i tweak all the font size and icon to be bigger for Windows XP home, especially my dad is the main user?

What else, do you guys recommend me to do?

This babe will be purely for work, some entertainment for Mp3 and movie.

Hi ppl, my school installed win xp pro on my AOA150 and now I am not able to see the "wireless on/off" words being flashed on the screen when I pushed the wireless switch. Does NE1 know how to enable it? Of cos, the wirelss button still works...
