I think he just really suay. If you go onli and read th reviews, people all compliment the minimal blb and goo QC.

Alternatively can check with acer if you can return it at full refund? Or just write on their facebook big big.

If all else fails I don't mind having it for 400 dollars heheh.

just got a call from Acer Engineer and been told that the Acer Management have decided that the red dead pixel and BLB does not amounting to defective panel and thus no replacement for it.

Reasons:
1) Need more than 3 dead pixel if its in the center of the monitor
2) BLB is usual for ips panel..so suck it and eat it.

Another Acer predator that destroyed my day. 1st its the "gaming desktop" acer predator..and now this Acer Predator XB271hu
Not sure if you have tried this: http://www.jscreenfix.com/

Screensaver version: http://www.jscreenfix.com/screensaver.html

Maybe the pixel needs lots of triggering to unstuck itself. Worth giving it a try.

Just receive my monitor~

First monitor I had have 8 dead pixels, went back for a 1 for 1 exchange (from gameprosg). The second one works great!

I am using 2 monitor now (xb271hu, phillips 274e) - somehow while playing games in borderless window mode, the fps drops between 8 to 17fps.

Any idea whats happening?

Plenty of things to check in my personal opinion:
Power cable to monitor, good/bad...test with UPS if power delivery is an issue from your power socket.
Is PC stable (i.e. not getting stuck) with another monitor
Is the DVI/HDMI/DP cable good?
Is your video card powerful enough to display the rest you are attempting to?
Can you test your PC with another monitor? Take the PC to a friends place who has a good high end panel.
Did you test with the Acer drivers?
Is it just in Windows or even if you are BIOS screen, try using a Live Linux disk to see if the OS giving you an issue.

Sounds like electrical interference to me leh. Try using surge protection for your pc?

By right, outside interference should not affect your PC. The only explanation is it has something to do with your power supply.

For understanding why only on DP will it happen, it is actually quite simple.
DP allows the monitor to refresh at 144Hz therefore, both your monitor and your GPU needs more power to output those extra frames.
HDMI on the other hand is limited to only 60Hz.
You can try to experiment by using DP and lowering your Refresh Rate on your Nvidia settings to 60Hz and see what happens.

Another thing you can do is put your PC on Power Saving mode to not use so much power and see how it goes also.

At the same time, how are your PC and monitor plugs connected to the power socket? If you are not using a 3-pin power extender plug, chances are, the power surge might not be able to ground itself and therefore cause a power surge on your PC.

But at the same time, it could be an intermittent lack of power to your PC that caused the entire system to fail because there was no power to a hardware component when you turn on/off any lights at home?

I have a ceiling fan with an LED light in the middle. Usually at night, when someone turns on/off any lights, I can see the LED light up a intermittently though it was dim. That is why I suspect there is high chance that you are experiencing a surge.

If in power saving mode on your PC and your screen refreshing at 60Hz on your DP connection and you do not encounter this problem when you turn the lights on and off, I'd adhere to their advice on buying a surge protection plug or surge protection extender.

thanks for the explanation! i'll try that tonight and see how it goes

*update*
tried it..doesnt change anything. still the same..been googling and some ppl solve it with unplugging the power cord...tried that..now even worse...no signal..have to revert back to hdmi...

Been enjoying every moment with this monitor. Truly one of the best monitors out in the market today.

Replaying old games just to experience the full IPS 27inch QHD 144hz glory!

But damm is this monitor blindingly bright!

The blue light filter function is nifty but it just spoils the colours which is the whole point to a IPS monitor.

What do you guys have for your Brightness / Contrast setting?
