Confirm is bleeding? Might be ips glow.. Simple check.
IPS glow = you move around physically and look at the screen, the glow will change
Bleed = no matter which angle u look at, the brightness is still there.

Do try to take a photo of the screen in a dark room tonight and post here. Close all curtains and turn off RGB or other lightings. Then open up a black background and can test from there.

You can call Acer and request for their engineer to come down and check.
Those service not bad one.
Cfm better than Samsung, Samsung quite niao for monitor exchange in my experience.

i now getting bored of this monitor leh haha... thought of selling it and get a DYAC monitor

You'll be surprised when you try this then. Comparable to DYAC but even sharper since 1440p and IPS panel.

Go to Blur Busters UFO Test
https://www.testufo.com/

You see how it is blurry even in 165Hz with OD(OverDrive) set to Normal which is balanced. And even if you switch OD to OFF or Extreme, you'll think that is the best that the monitor can do. Well guess what?

Open Nvidia Control Panel, under Set up G-Sync, try and play with G-Sync turned on for both FullScreen and Windowed and with it turned off. You'll see G-Sync turned on for both + Monitor's OD set to Normal looks less blurry right?

Now, Untick G-Sync to turn it off again and then go to Change Resolution and set the Hz to 120Hz. It should suddenly make the screen become darker. To confirm ULMB (Blur Reduction/DYAC) is turned On, Press the extreme right of your monitor's button next to the Power Button and open up the menu. Then press up once. Just above Game Mode, the Mode should say 'ULMB Mode' (If not, press up again, you can now press on 'ULMB' just below 'Over Clock' and turn ULMB On'.

Once you have confirmed ULMB is turned on on the monitor, Refresh the UFO Test page and see the difference in clarity. Not even a single blurriness. The UFO is entirely clear even though it is running at a lower Hz. Talk about a big difference. Make me wonder how well it will play at an even higher Hz of 240Hz. :s13:

Lesson learned, no need to buy another monitor since even this monitor is capable of a high end Blur Reduction. But of course, in order to achieve a higher Hz, only then will you need to sacrifice accurate colours and opt for those 240Hz TN panels with DyAc.

hi bro yes i know of ULMB. tried it before but didnt like it as it greatly reduce the backlight to very dim levels.

Yea DYAC is actually using that same technology but Benq manage to have better stronger backlight and its 240hz. Only downside its a TN panel.

Its worth to try, seems like a whole new display feature. 165hz still have the blurring effect though.

I'm surprised that I wasn't the only one recently getting attracted to the 240Hz BenQ monitor with DyAc. Cos I was steering in that direction for a few days too.

Am still experimenting with my monitor if it can match to that level. Currently have both G-Sync and ULMB turned on and it is buttery smooth and sharper when making the character look around. Unbelievable vs just having ULMB on which feels jittery.

- On Overwatch, I tested with ULMB but something was not right. I was on point but it was a miss.
- Without ULMB and G-Sync, it was easier to get headshots.
- With just G-Sync on, it was smooth but being on point was a hit and miss.
- But with ULMB and G-Sync on now, it feels smooth and sharper that it is easier to follow your target moving about. Like literally, when you look around, it does not have that motion blur anymore. It feels a bit of a hit-and-miss too though but way lesser than your typical G-Sync on hit-and-miss. I need to do more tests.

yea for fps games, it is actually generally advisable not to use gsync as it creates input lag.

for example CS GO, if gsync is on, shots wont register if your crosshair is on the enemy and if enemy is strafing. seems like what u see on screen and the actual position of the enemy when u click is different. so strongly suggest to switch gsync off for certain FPS titles.

u dont have to turn off actually. u can leave it on but in nvidia control panel, u can add an application, browse it to the csgo.exe and create another "profile" for that particular game or app, for example for this case its csgo.exe. then in this profile, go and turn off gsync.

so whenever u run csgo, gsync will be off. but in other applications gsync will be on.

I set my monitor to show the refresh rate at the top right. So it now always shows 165. If i am in an application that gsync is turn on, for example in my case, it's overwatch. Inside overwatch, my refresh rate counter will fluctuate according to my in game fps. So I know gsync is activated.

Sry for the noob question. So if the application G-sync is offed, the fps Ingame counter (top left for overwatch) fluctuates accordingly but the top right monitor refresh rate constant at 165?

Don't get it a bit wrong. There is no significant increase in input lag with G-Sync turned on. It will actually feel smoother. But due to the way the screen refreshes, your body cannot condition itself to know the 'pace/rythim' of the game (aka. how much an enemy can move on your screen therefore you place your aim slightly ahead or just on the target by taking into account your reaction time. Usually, our body will adapt to the timing of when the game refreshes/how much an enemy moves on screen so we move our mouse a but more to the right or left where you predict the enemy would be after you have reacted to it.
However, with adaptive refresh rate turned on, due to the variability of the refresh rate and the general smoothness of the game, it feels hard to predict because you cannot sense the 'pace/rhythm' of the game/the moving enemy characters. When you sense the enemy could be at this spot by the time you react to him moving there, the GPU did not send a frame on time and sends it even a few ms later causing your screen to show the enemy to have passed where you were aiming by then. That is what I mean by adaptive refresh rate.

So in general, it is way better for you to be using ULMB mode on your XB271HU. Considering how clear you will see when you are moving your aim around. Like I said, right now, I am using the Blur Busters G-Sync+ULMB hack and it was actually a lot more bearable and predictable than I thought. But I don't think it is conclusive until I have more time with it.

Refer to Battle (non)sense Youtube videos for more details such as at this point for CS:GO players between with no sync/V-sync/G-Sync at the 14:30s mark.

I remember I saw that it was proven that there is input lag for high fps games when gsync is on. They did a test. I tried and experience it myself too. Yes the game is smooth but shots don't register properly.

Yea u are correct. But u can't test on csgo because csgo fps always above 165 ma haha..

Some people say go set your fps_max to 5 fps below your monitor refresh rate..So 160 in our case. Then turn on gsync.

ps: wanna play csgo together? haha..
