My ex classmate whom I have known for 29 years, who's the god son of my mum's,Whatsapp me last night and I almost forgot his existence because he's not the type to initiate a chat
I felt like a fool to keep messaging him previously as he's the boh xim type to keep in contact one ,I find him toxic in a way

Didn't feel like replying him, hence my replies to him are all very short

I am quite surprised I am rather nonchalant to receive his message because we were best friends once

actually in Sinkie alot of relatives also loses or ceased contacting each other, personally my cousins cut contact with me ever since my auntie pass on, same as friends it will fizzle out but of course some still are maintained. it is the culture I feel as things like this are far lesser in other countries where family ties are more closer.

in singapore everything is so result based, all so focused on work, studies, making money.. practical things. and it shows, our relationships also no substance, u go shopping also u realise customer service is non existent. look at our govt, all very practical.. what's wrong with collecting more money? top down influence

im not friends with colleagues, i live by the 上班是同事，下半是路人. which means all other situations like classmates, CCA mates as friends are invalid also.

hang out also cannot mean anything. do i need that kind of catching up, validation, approval, companionship when im actually better off focusing, improving & making myself stronger & more resilient? coz the truth is, ppl all wanna mix ard with ppl who're better, more talented, richer & more powerful, why not i be that person? rather than be stuck in that comfort zone where u hang ard with ppl who're more or less like yr standard?

the bottomline is we're all alone in this world, better to realize this earlier than later. strong ppl dont hv friends, coz they dont need.
