Yup. Very easy to get around using the GPS and in following the roadsigns.

Hi. have gotten jetstar tix to penang on september, damn cheap! S$98 return all inclusive for 2 pax.

still mulling over which hotel to stay in.. any1 stayed before holiday inn? location wise is it good?

The HI and PR are at Batu Feringhi, about 15-20 minutes from Georgetown. There is a thriving night bazaar aka pasar malam right down the street. There is also frequent bus 101 (if i remember the number correctly) that goes to the Jetty Terminal at Georgetown.

Would recommend the PR over the HI though. The beachfront is much nicer.

Advice on Peanag

Will be spending only a night at Penang and staying at Bayview Georgetown. Can anybody advise me which hotel has nice local buffet dinner or is it better to go to Pulua Tikus for hawkers' food? If eating at Pulua Tikus will there be any problem with transport back to Georgetown? thanks.

Its easy to get a cab, but its damn expensive... if you really need one, i think i still have a chinese driver contact, quite nice guy, will search for it if you want.

Walking along the seaside at Gurney drive can be quite smelly if tide is out.
Even if tide is in still abit smelly.

Traders Hotel

Hi. I received rates for Traders Hotel at RM295.8 nett per night.

Just wondering is this cheap?

Also if I decide to stay in this hotel, how much is taxi from airport to hotel and vice versa?

Park royal penang is a good choice... its along ferringi beach and the hotel is just at the start point of the night market and with restaurant just outside the hotel. 2 good pool with beach activities... breakfast not bad also... think they serve fresh fruits juice... done on the spot

shld stay G Hotel! just came back. can catch late night movie v convenient just walk over. 10-12rm only. stroll along gurney is not bad, many eatery n restaurant along the drive. penang is great man, safe to walk at night n you dont see idlers or suspicous characters lurking.
