thanks all, for the show i only know it's Penang bcos of the wall art.. the rest i not sure if they filmed in KL etc.. how about the durian farm? it's also in Penang right?

but if i am going with 2 kids (<5yo) + 2 adults, do i need to book 2 rooms? bcos i see from the hotel website, most only allow 2 adults per room and max 1 child with extra bed.. but if usually small children, the hotel allows to stay in one room at most with extra bed surcharge, can anyone advise?

there are durian farms in penang, but not the palm oil plantation one shown in the show.
I would say other than the hotel and street art and street scenes, most of the show are filmed else where.

if ur kids can squeeze on bed, you dun need to get extra bed, the reason why its at most 1 extra bed is just simply no room to fit 2 extra beds. the hotel usually wun care the number of pax in the room. if u worried, during check in, ask ur wife take the kids go somewhere else, dun be at recep. just note, the extra bed usually only comes with breakfast for 1.

If you are a nature lover, you can visit Penang National Park, Tropical Spices Garden and Tropical Fruits Farm. If you bring kids with you, you may also consider Butterfly Farm (the largest butterfly farm in Southeast Asia). To visit Tropical Fruits Farm, you may stop at Balik Pulau for Penang assam laksa which is quite famous in Penang island. Dinner at Ferringhi Garden or the Ship and follow by night market in walking distance.

If you want to spend your time in Bayan Lepas, you may visit War Museum, Snake Temple, seafood lunch in Teluk Kumbar and shopping in Queensbay Mall before you leave Penang.

Hope this helps.

Yes, they have a lot of butterfly flying around. They have other insects, too.

The insects are spiders, scorpions and etc. You need any insect repellent and they are not toxic to human being. There are also farm assistants around.

Cool...

I'm only worried about mozzie only... Not really for the rest of the insects...

Do not eat at Tai Tong Tim Sum.

Be warned!!! Do not ever go to this place for Dim Sum! The food there are totally not fresh and those dim sum with prawn filling have sour taste! Avoid this place at all cost and if you want dim sum, around that area has another 2 more and one is Leong Kee tim sum restaurant. Just came back from Penang and this place recommended by chehjin, Ming Xiang Tai (名香泰餅家) the pastry is quite nice....esp. the egg tart!

both are viable but renting costs about 250rm a day and you need to be familiar with driving overseas as their roads can be narrow esp in the georgetown area

depends on what you rent. if you only need a small 1kcc car, probably 120rm only. (exclude insurance)
imho, georgetown very easy to drive. only that many sections is 1 way, so have to take note.
