A little of western and local but not much varieties. Always same old food.

Yes, luckily Sunway nearby has a lot of makan places, even for breakfast. There is a dim sum restaurant within walking distance.

Yes. But best is if you got local number can call. Driver will only pick up from departure hall to avoid kena humtum by taxis.

there are 2 buses from airport to georgetown (1 express and 1 normal route). roughly 30mins depending on traffic condition and like rm$2-3.
from georgetown, u have to switch bus to get to sunway.

cab from airport is fixed price, quite expensive.

Actually, do not need to go to Komtar bus terminal, you can alight one or two bus stop (can't remember now) and walk to Sunway.

Go google the map and check it out.

Just outside the airport at the public bus stop. Depending on traffic conditions, took about an hour with traffic jam to reach Georgetown. First time, I alighted at Komtar bus terminal and walk to Sunway. Thereafter, familiar with the route, alighted at bus stop near Sunway.

Last trip was only 2 of us, did not rent a car, so took public bus and CAT all the times.

When I was in Penang during Feb this year, I hire a Chinese driver for a day. He only have a van with I think 12 seats. Rate is 320 rm for 8 hr, any extra will be charge. He is friendly but if you are looking for comfortable car or mini bus then no.
Penang don't need guide, if you do your reading and planning.
