Airport not affected so no cancellation of flights for now. Flight cancellation is normally a few hours notice.

Yes, airport not affected, my colleague just back yesterday night from penang (home). From news, every where is flooding, even penang hill have landslide.

I am from Penang. Everything is slowly getting in order now. The Island City council with the help of Selangor City Council and others are moving and working hard to clear the mess and repair the rest.

Come visit Penang. My Guesthouse is open for stay anytime.

If can change to a later date the better, if not go lol since money already lost.
From the photos share from penang fb (gopenang), most part of the island is affected.
Kek Lok Si Temple and Penang hill have some damage.

April is the start of raining season, so more wet but not so hot.
2. Just too many to name, also depend on how the recovery from the flood.
Check this out: www.penang.ws/penang-attractions/10mustsee.htm
3. Grab is very cheap.
4. Stay there this year Feb, location very good, hotel room is big and many food stalls on the left side of the hotel.

1) Good time. Not a vacation period for other tourists.
2) Penang is a UNESCO world heritage site more for the architecture and vanishing trades, and not for the food per se. https://www.visitpenang.gov.my/UnescoHeritageBrochure.pdf To this list I add Kek Lok Si and Penang Hill.
3) Grab
4) Very good location. Street hawkers just outside your hotel. Famous nasi kandar. Walking distance to Komtar and the malls there.

Only about 259 hectare in George Town is UNESCO heritage zone and two out of 3 criteria were mention in fact 2. In the heritage zone, there are some good food out there including indian and chinese foods. It is individual preference to visiting George Town heritage zone besides food.

Yo! Wana know Penang, you got to ask Penang Kia! Haha!

1) Good period as in? April is usually quite a bored time to visit Penang as there isn't any event going on but flights and hotels are cheap. So if you are someone like me, who doesn't like to squeeze with people on a holiday and feels it's more worthy to pay for hotels and flights during non-peak season, then you can come to Penang. All the attractions and food is available for you.

2. Die die place of interest? I would recommend Penang Hill! Why? Although it is not as fancy as Sentosa Island, but Penang Hill is the landmark that defines Penang, just like the Merlion of Singapore. When you're back to Singapore, you tell your friends & families that you didn't visit Penang Hill, I'm sure they will laugh at you.

3. Yes, plenty of drivers to recommend. Some recommended Grab/Uber. If you are travelling on a budget, just Grab/Uber, that's all. But if you are coming to Penang to enjoy your holiday, hire a private local driver. Why?
Hassle Free, Convenient and Comfortable. Driver will be with you all the time and follow you to everywhere you go,all day. You know the driver, driver knows you and able to serve you better. You don't have to wait for your transport to reach each of your destination every time you require a pick up. Instead, the driver will always be ready to Pick you up with just a call.

4. Good as in which aspect? If location wise, then Sunway Hotel is very convenient. 2 mins walk to New Lane street food where there are more than 30 stalls of food for you to choose. 3 mins walk to Komtar, Penang Times Square, M Mall, 3 local banks, McDonald's and bus station, Dim sum restaurant, Mamak Restaurant and plenty of chinese Coffee Shops too!

Which bridge? Hat Yai is over 200km away. The border crossing is not closed.
