wanna go together on a cab or van around to kek lor si and tourist spots?

I dont see much cab on the roads.
I been to Penang 4 times and so far, the road within Penang are ok.
So i would recommend driving there.
But if you intend just to go george town then you can explore by foot.

driving from singapore to penang.. wow.. that would be very tiring, but frankly speaking, w/o a car in penang is also quite inconvenient..

Stayed there a few times, very good imo but one prob now is food as i used to go with my family and my father drives as he's familiar with the place. Now im going there with friends and places with nice makan that i went before might not be an option anymore as we dont know the place. So, any suggestions?

I think hotel malaysia got buffet breakfast.

DVD shops can be found at Prangin Mall and Queensbay.

There is one inside a old shopping mall called megamall one they sell the tvb original drama boxset dirt cheap, rm6 per piece only

For the PG bridge itself, Cars = RM7.00. If you use the touch-n-go card purchased at the bridge service centre, you can enjoy some % discount, pay only RM5.60 or RM6?? Collection of toll is only one way from Seberang Perai (mainland) to the island. From island to mainland is free. Likewise for the car ferry.

Many years ago, i stayed there when i was attending a conference at the hotel.
Rooms are clean and comfortable though i dont know about the condition now.
Location is not bad as it is within working distance to some museum, temple and the older shopping mall like comtar. The newer malls are at Gurney area though.

stay there once years ago. very near to the beach and got alot of sea sports. went jet ski and sea parachuting. But very far from town.

Hi. have gotten jetstar tix to penang on september, damn cheap! S$98 return all inclusive for 2 pax.

still mulling over which hotel to stay in.. any1 stayed before holiday inn? location wise is it good?

I choose to stop by at Ipoh for 1 day and then to Penang for 2 days, back time is straight from Penang to Singapore. Drive at comfort pace took me 8hrs, in between with a few stops at the highway not so tiring.

Gearing up for new train service

THE Penang Hill Corporation has recruited more than 30 new employees for the running of the funicular train service which is expected to resume next month.

The funicular was still not open when I was there in Apr. Fellow tourists and even off-state Msians were also caught unawares. So just stopped at the base station and took pictures.
