Some people maybe more comfortable with hotel stay. Most I know will repeat their stay in airbnb once they have tried a few times and usually with positive experience

Stayed at hotel neo plus, a clean and new hotel. Way cheaper than your airbnb.

There are many options in Georgetown that are cheaper than 100sgd. Sure, no kitchen but in the land of good food, who needs to cook? :)

Royal Hotel

Its is my first time to spend the night here. Thanks to the concierge and bell service for helping us during our stay. Only for a night, we have been given for a late c/out by the front desk. Good job!

The price is after airbnb promotion code

neo plus is cheap!! but we stayed in airbnb as we wanted to have one bedroom each!
Will book neo plus next time when going with parents. Elderly prefer to stay in hotel than in appartment

Need help and advice.

Looking to make a trip in Oct with friends to Penang and want to stay in Georgetown.

Want to book 2 interconnecting rooms or suite with 2 bedrooms....overall budget S$120 per night.

Any recommendations with that budget?

Thanks.

I stayed at Armenian Street Heritage Hotel. Can consider that. Not bad boutique hotel.

Thanks for suggestion.

Actually after combing through, there are quite a few options for connecting rooms or family suites...

Have booked via Hotels.com for 2 Glow Penang Superior rooms that were on special sale, and requested hotel for connecting rooms. Can use discount codes by googling.

Some of those considered:
Hotel Penaga
Hotel Jen Penang (Hotels.com has special price for the Club room now)
Cititel Penang
Ren i Tang
Cititel Express Penang
Sunway
Hotel Neo+

Also looked at those at Airbnb...most of those fitting my criteria were condo units at Penang Time Square.

Going Penang for first time in mid oct, can someone suggest a 6d5n itinerary for me? Mainly just going there to enjoy the food and night life. Will be staying at glow hotel plan to visit batu ferringhi for a night or two.

Is there any place that is absolutely must go, read through some of the posts here that suggests jelutong night market, seems interesting, are there more places like that, or good place to drink and chill etc?

Hmm heard negative things about the night market at batu ferringhi. Are there any recommended place to eat around the hotel area?

For night markets, have a look at this TA thread:
