Does anyone know what this cable is meant for? It came with the system.

This is the answer I got from AE technical support.

Dear Sir

This cable is a speaker level to line-level adaptor cable. It is used when you want to run the Aego M from the high level speaker outputs on an amplifier. It converts the high level signal of the amp to a lower 'line-level' signal for the Aego M.This cable is not often used though as most modern amps have pre-amp phono sockets that you can run the Aego from instead.

How to connect ah? The top right "inputs" is to PC? And the "+" and "-" is to the sats? I never setup these type of speakers before lol.

when you get it, and can't figure it out, then ask. no point asking now, without the equipment u'll just have to visualise, which's moot, because it's really very easy to set up. seriously, an 8 year old could do it. you don't need any experience at all to set up. the only thing i can possibly think of you getting confused with is the positive and negative end of the wire going into which hole. for that, just remember that the side of the wire with "-" should go into the negative port.

My +/- ends of the sats (as shown below) does not have any negative sign on them, but one of them has a red rubber cover. So I basically connect the one with the red cover to the red (+) socket and the remaining one to the negative socket. Is that correct?

Will there be any problem if the above wires are connected wrongly?

I bought a new set (today) of aego M for $224(w/GST). This is one of the coolest things. I was comparing it with Klipse Promedia 2.1 (selling @ $275).

I tested out the cool speakers and decided to giv my opinion. I tried out several new age song with piano and strings instrument.

The bass was indeed coming out from the sats, however it is more refined and blend in with the backgd music.

The treble is quite gd switching from high notes and low notes. But sadly, its mid range is so-so only.

However it is worth it for the type of MM speakers for this price.

Proud to the aegom users.

Before my ranting, here is an update. When leaving SLS at about 7.15, the tag outside CE says only 2 sets left and most likely both white. Yesterday I bought the last black set at 224 and 5 white sets were remaining and price will be going up with the next batch.

Had little trouble setting them up and once all were plugged in, I activated WMP and blasted my fav tunes through it. Straight away heard the clarity of these compared to my old Edifier E1100. They are absolutely great speakers. However, no boomy bass. Barely any bass from the woofer infact. I thought the woofer wasnt working at first lol. Most of the bass coming from the sats. Music sounds much better this way. Also, the voulme from these tiny sats are incredible and I could push the volume to very high and there isnt and distortion. All in all, very glad with the purchase. Bass lovers should consider the Klipsch instead of these. Only complain is the cables are white and the whole system is black so a little unpleasant but the sound quality of these is just great. Waiting for them to get properly burned in and then I can listen to the REAL AegoM's.

Once properly burned-in, chiu will be even more impressed!
Also I recommend chiu to go for the better quality RCA and IC cables, makes a 20%-30% improvement!!! :s12::s12::s12:

City electronics sells Chord cable at $10 per metre and the connector is $3.

based on others's opinion, the chords users are switching to belden or carnere. Guess those might be better...

However, chord is fine with me.

Hi, did you manage to test/find out how much the mogami 2549 ic cable cost and how it perform? interested if you can shed some info.

Cost $42 for 1 meter Y-Cable from PC sound card output to Aego-M Sub, just got it yesterday but realised 1 meter is too short for my setup, probably need another 0.2m.

I shifted my sub closer to my PC to hook-up the cable...sounded cleaner & more detailed, didn't test for too long.

Anyone interested can PM me, I'll let go the cable @ $35, self collect @ Tiong Bahru MRT.
