Daikin Inverter versus non-Inverter

Hi folks, I am getting my house keys in two weeks. Excited:s22:

Wondering if experts here could provide me their views on the viability of the quote from Liang Court LongWxx.

I am intending to get System 3 Daikin, Armaflex insulation, copper pipe 22 gauge, sigma wire, compressor 5 year warranty, blower & workmanship 1 year warranty.

Main bedroom (2700 by 4700): 12k BTU
Bedroom 2 (3100 by 4400): 9k BTU
Bedroom 3 (2850 by 4400): 9k BTU

Quoted: (non-heavy user: I probably use aircon 2-3 times weekly and 1 or 2 rooms at one time with maximum of 8 hours per room.)
Daikin system 3 inverter SGD 3,300
Daikin system 3 non-inverter SGD 2,650

Please provide me your two cents.

To mushroompot,

I tink ur master room requires 9k will do, but if u want it to cool down faster, 12k btu will be good.

U might want to source for another quote to compare... :)

hi Guys,

need advise on aircon.

I currently have a system 3 aircon for the 3 bedroom (7 years old), thinking of changin it into a system 4 to include the living room also.

What brand is good currently ?
Do they charge extra for dismantling the old Aircon ?
Do they need to get all new piping & wiring or will they re-use the old ones ?
(Im asking this because the main bedroom pipe was build behind the wardrobe, so would be pretty hard to be dismantled)

thanks

To sandyph,

Best is to use all new pipings.

Maybe u can run a different routing to avoid dismantling the wardrobe.

Best to get an installer for a site assessment before purchase.

Hello Kopitian,

System 1 is usually what we call a Single Split whereby there is 1 outdoor unit (condenser) that is connected to 1 indoor unit (fancoil).

System 2 = 1 outdoor unit (condenser) that is connected to 2 indoor units (fancoil).

System 3 = 1 outdoor unit (condenser) that is connected to 3 indoor units (fancoil)

Hope this helps.

Best Regards,

Jason Tham

pardon my ignorance but wtf is a system 1,2,3 aircon..

Wah I went down to get quotation from imm and was all set to get mhi... then two different salesmen tell me the tourmaline sheet to generate the neg ions is "bs". And one try to convince me to get Panasonic if really want ionizer...

Then when I ask about wire and insulation, wah he just dodge here and there and say everything is standard one, don't listen to forums lol

Headache siah...

Oh and a few more questions, I want to replace all aircon and change the hidden insulation/ pipes everything for my old condo.

my room sizes as follows:
Master BR - 18sqm
BR1 - 12 sqm
BR2 - 11sqm
Living + dinner - 37sqm

I am thinking should i have the following mitsubishi combination:
master-12000btu MSY-GE13va *1
living-15000btu MSY-GE15va *1
dinning-15000btu MSY-GE15va *2
room1- 9000btu MSY-GE10va *2
room2- 9000btu MSY-GE10va *2

*1 - 3a28va compressor (28000 btu); *2 - 4a28va compressor (38000 btu)

1) Is the above ok? Can any bro recommend a more 'optimum' combo?

Also, Gaincity quoted 'approx' $500 installation per fancoil as i want to replace old piping. so installation alone will be abt 3k

2) Is the installation cost reasonable?

3) lastly, may I know if there will a lot of hacking involved or they can somehow 'snake' the old pipe out and replace without hacking?

Thx in advance.

Need some advice here...

Based on this configuration MXY3A28/MSYGE24/10/10, is it true that I can only on 2 fancoil at 1 time?

What if all 3 are turn on at 1 time? Will the aircon system spoil? Cos I just want to know in case accidentally on 3 at 1 time...
