Just got my Xiaomi air purifier 2. However the wifi light keeps blinking very fast and I'm not sure how to connect my phone to it? There are no instructions at all! I installed the mi home iOS app and every time it connects it fails. I'm already connected to the air purifier wifi but it always disconnects while attempting to connect.
I don't have Xiaomi air purifier 2 anymore. The instruction can be found inside the app iirc.

You need to connect using 2.4Ghz and not 5Ghz for the first time.

1. Connect your iPhone to your home Wi-Fi using 2.4Ghz

2. Launch the Mi App and add the purifier and follow the instruction accordingly.

Exact procedure I cannot remember. Roughly is that. Main thing is must setup using 2.4Ghz. After setting up successfully, you can use 5Ghz. No issue after that.

Yea I got it. I switched to the android phone and the flow is much better. In android it asked me to add a password for my router wifi password, and it worked! In the iphone version it doesn't, so I'm stuck wondering what's going on.. I tried while on the 2.4Ghz network as well to no avail. Well at least now I can use the android phone..

i am such a mountain tortise, after having this AP2 for so long, today I then add into the Mi home app. I am so surprised that the locale inside the app can select Singapore and works, plus it auto prompt me to update the AP's firmware...

You need Wi-Fi to setup if want to use the app for the purifier.

Otherwise, just use the purifier without the app. That would mean you unable to adjust the speed fan (in favourite mode)

still undecided which one to get.
wonder if the 2S/Pro is worth the $100 premium

2S and Pro is 2 different model. I read review they said 2S is not really and upgrade of 2 or Pro. Just got Pro features but spec wish not as good as 2. Pro is the best of them all but more ex.

Noted. Thanks

read this and decide urself

There are 3 types of XiaoMi Air Purifier filters.

1. Blue normal type
2. Green enhanced type
3. Purple antibacterial type

All can be used in Gen1/Gen2/Pro.

A brief description of all the 3 types could be found in this listing.

Disclaimer: Not asking to buy from this one cos' may not the cheapest u could find and currently they only have stock for the blue original filter in their listing.

Just to add on .... although all the 3 types of Xiaomi air purifier filters could be used in Pro, if without the RFID "sticker" at the bottom of the filter, error msg will display on the purifier display stating pls use original filter.

Take note.

The built in filter is the original normal blue filter that comes with it. Already inside the purifier.

You do not need to add the option C (Xiaomi filter) unless you intend to buy extra filter at the same time.

For the filters in simplicity...

1. Normal original blue type

2. Enhanced green type (with added activated carbon filter in the inner most) thicker than the normal blue and the antibacterial purple type.

3. Antibacterial purple type (looks the "same" as the blue one except is in purple colour with the antibacterial ....)

As for the pricing, don't know. Very long no monitor.

doesnt the original blue type come with activated carbon filter as well ?
i refer to the link below, it stated "high-density EPA filter and activated carbon filter"
