600 ug/m3 on the meter -> 33 ug/m3 in 10 mins. Not too shabby.

Ok, this should be able to get some of our heads up a little.

Air pollution (PM2.5/PM10) drops the number of healthy sperm and absolute number of sperm. :s13:

There's a probable link suggested, at least for the levels above the recommended thresholds.

https://ehp.niehs.nih.gov/wp-content/uploads/118/2/ehp.0901022.pdf

Conclusion
The present study provides suggestive evidence
of an association between ambient air pollution
and sperm quality. Results for PM2.5 suggest
a possible adverse association with sperm
head morphology and cytoplasmic droplets,
although these results did not persist after
controlling for season and temperature. Also,
although not statistically significant, O3 was
inversely associated with sperm concentration
and count, consistent with results in Los
Angeles (Sokol et al. 2006). Clearly, further
research is needed, with better characterized
exposure models, to explore this association in
more detail.

Anyone has feedbacks on Xiaomi Purifier Gen 1 and Gen 2?

Gen 2 is not sold in Singapore with local warranty, but able to buy export sets.
Gen 1 there is local xiaomi warranty, can get from NTUC.

Gen 1 is bigger, more powerful than gen 2.

The question is, which one is better? Anyone use Gen 2 or gen 1?

Hi, my ax40 doesn't power up. When it is switched on there is no startup sound. I've checked incoming current and it is present. The power line then links to this pcb board. From there, I dunno how to troubleshoot anymore. Any one knows how to check from this point?

where do u want to use it? living room or bedroom?
thanks, have looked through some, but only a few reviews. $279 for a purifier is much cheaper than other brands right? I'm not sure the price for other brands.

I have both. Gen1 u able to open up and clean the blade. But because the top fan blade side got opening, so it tends to get dirty pretty easily. Gen2 unable to open up, but doesn't have the opening for the top fan side, so the blades doesn't really get dirty that easily. So far still looks clean.

Gen2 if you set to Favourite mode, the fan speed will auto slow down to "auto mode" after some time. So you cannot blast all the way in the event of haze. Gen1 you able to. It doesn't auto "reduce" the fan speed.

Gen1 comes with the enhanced green color filter whereas Gen2 comes with the original normal blue filter.

Mobile app interface for Gen1 and Gen2 is a bit difference but not really important.

The rest of the differences such as power consumption, coverage area etc, think can easily found in older posts....

Just sharing. Hope is useful for in one way or another.

maybe Lucky can advice of Gen1 is noisy

Gen2 is enough for bedroom

I don't think will use turbo mode. For Gen1, there's 3 additional manual fan speeds. The high fan speed is already very noisy. If go turbo (jet) mode, I think will probably give u the feeling that the motor might not last. Super loud.

The sweet spot is middle fan speed imo. Not too noisy. Still "acceptable (subjective)" perhaps still manageable for bedroom imo - provided not light sleeper.

Gen2 is comparatively "quieter" (still noisy at higher speeds). Is relatively more suitable for bedroom. Can "adjust" more manual fan speeds.

BUT the thing is cannot blast all the way. Under the manual fan speeds, after sometime will auto trigger back to slow auto mode. That's something really turn me off - in the event of haze.

Just personal opinion.
