Looks like HappyMall changed the AX40 filter pricing. Now $99 liao.
No longer $69 or that time $49 (time sales).
wow... what is the regular pricing of the AX40 filter otherwise?
i'm glad the xiaomi 2 keeps the same basic filter as the xiaomi 1.... easy to plan for a fleet of units at multiple homes (assuming there is wifi of course)

My 3 years old son do have eczema and asthma, most of the night soon before dozing off, will tends to scratch his head, neck, back, hand, leg etc...almost all over his body. So we have to help to scratch for him till he falls asleep, else if he scratch himself, skin will be very red or even bleed....and he will easily get flu and sneeze too but we still have to switch on air con as he easily get irritated or sweat without aircon....i do have a Honeywell AP bought in 2007 till now still using, but doesn't helps too.
On Sat, out of sudden read from somewhere about air humidifier to use on aircon room due to maintain humidity level, find it that it might be related, so search online and found a Novita Air Humidifier NH900 Refurnished Set @ $149.50 through the Novita eStore and quickly place an order. I like the feature of the sensor reading and auto-maintain the humidity level, and it does have Atopy mode that is for baby too because i do have a 1 year plus son too....
Last night i use it on Atopy mode, wake up quite a few times to check the humidity level and the reading is at the correct range, tonight shall use my hygrometer that used on my camera storage cabinet to test out again.
And for my son, didn't see him having flu or sneezing last night but do still scratch too. Will monitor it and see how.
By the way, have you got your Novita 002H? currently have promo at $699 with free filter bundle pack. And if not, which brand and model you bought? Because if the Novita Air Humidifier that i have right now doesn't helps, will then look at the model you using....

"It's the worst day so far this year," said Liu Feifie, a 36-year-old mother and Internet company employee. "I feel my throat totally congested with phlegm and it feels very itchy. But I'm more concerned about the health of my 7-year-old kid."
Readings of the tiny poisonous PM2.5 particles reached into the high 600s micrograms per cubic meter through the capital, as compared with the World Health Organization safe level of 25. Some suburban neighborhoods logged levels up in the 900s on Monday.
Outside a packed children's hospital in downtown Beijing, parents and grandparents complained about the smog's impact on small children and say the pollution has made their children vulnerable to illnesses such as throat infections and the flu.
"The government is supposed to be tackling the pollution, so we need to see the effects. If in a few years the situation does not change, we will consider leaving," said Yin Lina, who brought her 5-year-old daughter to the hospital with a stuffed nose.

Jezuz....look at the rate of how the tiongs snap up even Coway's 7k RMB flagship AP.
So as I understand Daikin TCK70P is much better than MC70. I found TCK70P on ebay for US$536.14 including worldwide courier shipping. Is it purifier only or does it have humidifying function as well?
So this makes TCK70P around S$755 vs Hitachi EP-A8000 S$690.
Potential negatives in case of TCK70P are: no warranty, 100v converter required.

I wouldn't really worry about warranty for APs. But you gotta consider the voltage issue esp when you return to SG....ie needing the transformer here as well as in Dubai. It's quite troublesome for that extra piece of brick.
Seriously, I'd just go for the Hitachi A8000 or A50 then.
Do consider filter availability in Dubai. If back in Singapore, then it's easier to customise from Taobao.

The air is pretty dry there. So no excuses about the moisture in the air making things seem worse than it is.
