I have 2 pieces of this, only disadvantage is that it only has 2 fan speed high and low (and auto). I find high a bit loud, low airflow too slow. Wish there was a medium speed.

Anyway how come $320. Usual price is between $249-$269 with $15 shipping.

i need it urgently so no point to wait the price go down. yes the speed high is quite loud but the wind is strong. and yes, i bought it with extra filter.

HAHAHA. guess what? last night i farted a smelly one, the purifier turned red mode immediately... so funny... laugh until cannot sleep.

Don't worry about it being "loud". Other APs are (1) somewhat (2) noticeably (3) significantly louder at the same airflow.

Any green light is it the time to buy?

Now approx. 805 rmb, shd be ok. But don't buy now as it's CNY. Order 3 weeks after CNY.

BTW, do insist in using 顺丰。Even if stock is in Shenzhen (at most add rmb 20 max only, usually is less than that)

BTW, since you are buying 4 units, try to ask the seller to send in 4 different packages.

ie raise 4 orders. Also make sure he sends out in 4 different tracking numbers.

Aliwangwang him and makes sure he knows this, even if you pay up 4 different times.

This is to prevent 4PX from refusing the package.

Send to forwarders. I have tested with 4PX no issue....that's all I can say.

You may wish to try other routes. Up to you.

Then from 4PX to SIN (speedpost), I'd advise sending in 4 batches. Each box is 6.07kg. This is to avoid GST. (usually they know how to declare, but better don't push it). You only get hit with 43-24rmb = 19rmb extra for the initial first kg.

If you wanna "save" somewhat. Buy some extra filters and tag along to the order.

SINGAPORE: In preparation for future haze seasons, the Ministry of Education (MOE) will deploy air purifiers to all school classrooms, said Acting Minister for Education Ng Chee Meng on Wednesday (Jan 27).

In a written reply to a parliamentary question from MP Christopher de Souza, Mr Ng said MOE will send about 25,000 air purifiers to all primary and secondary schools in Singapore by July this year. Similarly, Voluntary Welfare Organisation-run special education schools and MOE Kindergartens will also have air purifiers, Mr Ng added.

Schools will be provided guidelines on the use of the air purifiers as well, he said.

The move comes after the completion of the haze management review, and the measures are to enhance the well-being of students and staff during a haze situation, said Mr Ng. The measures were introduced in consultation with the National Environment Agency and the Ministry of Health.

“This enhancement to haze management measures takes into account the unusually prolonged hazy season last year as a possible forerunner of future haze seasons,” he explained. The Pollutant Standards Index in Singapore reached unhealthy and hazardous levels in 2015, forcing primary and secondary schools to close for a day.

25,000 units for about 350 schools - about 70 units per school. Quite a good allocation, if all are issued out for use and not part issued part kept in store.

The schools will probably introduce guidelines/SOP on when can turn on the AP. Hopefully, the guidelines will be sensible and not overly stringent in order to save electrical costs and filter replacements.

Let's see what brand/model is successfully tendered.

Would you guys still buy it now considering that the haze only come once every few years?

What's a good price for xm ap?
Saw xm1 going at 250
local sellers selling xm 1 and 2 around the same pricing, xm1 has better airflow right despite being larger?

Depends on your own needs.

If you have ppl with sensitive airways (allergies, sinus problems, etc) in your family, it's worth running nightly when you sleep. Very shiok to wake up without blocked nose :o

And depending on your estate, you don't just have the haze to contend with, but there's also particulates from vehicular traffic, occasional joss-paper burning etc. These are less dramatic, but more frequent than haze in fact.

There was haze in 2006, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015. and also before that, but I just put last 10 years).

So it's 8 out of past 10 years.....not once every few years.

And all these years had levels confortably above current PSI 100 (inclusive of PM2.5)

If one lives at a low floor without line of sight to at least 10km, he'd probably not notice it. Or you can use a laser particle counter. Or just keep track of this thread.

The difference in airflow between XM1 and XM2 is 4.6% only. You won't notice it in the real world at all, even with a laser particle counter you'd barely find any difference in the rate of drop or the best level of particulate matter attainable in the room.
