Bought this last night. Need to use the ns vouchers and some ntuc vouchers before expiry date. :(

The specs in the instruction booket stated that the applicable area is 15m2. The hepa filter is not rated, filter 0.3 µm with efficiency of 99.9%.

Good enough for my bedroom.

Sibei sian

This looks like the cheapest one so far. What replacment filters does it use and how much?

Keep waiting for the sharp a28e to drop in price but instead it keeps going up..wait until haze come liao still havent drop:vijayadmin:

Is it?

Why more mozzi everywhere now?

Evidence by kid who suffer mozzi bites just these few weeks

Before this, nothing at all

Now, kid has to stay indoors, don't know need to buy how many filters then enough

:s22: haze not strong enough noted, Indon will pump more into sg to get rid of mozzie~

Still using 6-7 year old Sharp FU-S51E, just changed filter last year.
V good workhorse, still working strong.. with the specs better than many of the newer models (closest same spec new model is A50 i think).

Wanting to buy one more, but not sure which model to get....
Wonder why Sharp decided not to have HEPA-13 filters in non-humidifier models anymore :(

If the AHU is using decent MERV-9 or MERV-10 filters, actually no need air puirifiers. Coz the a/c room is not exposed much anyway, much less exposure to external air compared to HDB. HDB is usually return home then close windows switch on purifier and a/c.

MERV-13 is like close to HEPA-12 liao.

Not saying these are the ones, but are similar to these....just that the commercial ones are much bigger and slightly thicker at 3-4 inches.

Nordic Pure 20x20x4M13-2 20x20x4 MERV 13 Pleated AC Furnace Air Filter, Box of 2, 4-Inch - Amazon.com

Bro, where to get the filter the cheapest ah? don't mind to wait no hurries.

Those honeywell if import from Germany, they can move air even better than the KC Sharps?

But I felt the honeywell takes more estate space hor?

The new KCD Sharp has the haze feature is quite good. 1st hour purge all the dust.

NTUC selling Taiyo`s for $99. But size is slightly larger then bread toaster.

Saw it earilier..decided not to buy, not worth le, too small. From Qoo, filter sells for about 60$. For such a small purifier sure must replace dam often

Whats the cheapest sharp air purifier avail now?maybe can preorder in case wind change

Ok been reading about different brands etc

Confirm Honeywell and sharp lots of supporter

Personal experience tell me any brand as long as can work and meet some standard that are important to filter air should do

Most importantly, must be able to get replacement filter

Stuff like Novita will work. Just that they are not as well-known and are new. E10 = 85% @ 0.3 microns, will work. H13, 99.97 @0.3microns, will work. Likely E10 will be > 90% efficient @ 0.75 microns.

Sharp and Honeywell been tested. Sharp more of well-known locally, plus replacement filter support. Not only that, Ebay support as well.

Sharp and Honeywell are WORKHORSES. 10 years, not likely to be an issue.
Mine has been running daily 12/365/6 years. Another got FU-51 running for 7 years?

Spend $400-800 for a 10 year workhorse, nowadays not many electrical appliances can do that.

IQAir and Blueair are the high-end workhorses. In price-sensitive Singapore, I guess they may not do as well as their lower priced counterparts. And of coz got the not so popular workhorses like Austin mate etc...

The new KCD Sharp has the haze feature is quite good. 1st hour purge all the dust.

The KC-D60 or KC-A50 quite power liao. Both have a CADR of low 200s.
Compare with the Honeywell 50250 with CADR of 250.

Size you gotta compare yourself. By square area, the 50250 takes up more space. There are other models, gotta compare yourself.

Electricity....50250 takes 50W/120W/170W. Sharp is 5W/18W/46W. Almost the same CADR probably - check out the noise levels for comparison. The Honeywell is noticeably much noisier for the same CADR (even lower speeds).

But the 50250 has the best bang for the buck in CADR per dollar $.

Different pple, different uses, different strokes.
I use everyday for years. Noise and electricity consumption is number 1 factor. The difference between the Sharp and HW 50250 is at least $150 difference in electricity cost running in medium speed. 6 years = $900.
Some just use 7 days per year. Performance is number 1 factor. Electricity and noise, simi lai de? :D

Need to use air purifier everyday ?

Bought iLife years ago, use for a while then find not much difference without

Also used sharp purifier before, about same time as iLife was available, same result

Only last year, when haze become so terrible then re-activate iLife

Remembered feeling glad not to have given iLife away

Now buy Novita becoz have online eshop

Need to add that I've tried 3m filter with Aircon before too, many years back when 3m was first launched

Same thing, yes, filter turn grey but feel not much difference without, just clean Aircon original filter more often

Then there's the mask, last year rush to buy but hardly used becoz very uncomfortable

Now, just hope rain come soon

Forecast said east side to have thunderstorm but as of now, no sign or water vapor even, just thick smoke, like every night before tonight
