I need to get one air purifier asap.

budget lesser than $300 or exceed abitt is ok.

use in bedroom of 14 Meter square area

Too many pages in this thread, can't read all posts.

So boil down to helpful bros here to read this post and recommend.

My requirement is
1) Low noise
2) HEPA Filters H13 or better
3) Filter price is cheap (or best washable like LG, no need replace)

Read past posts, that alot of members here buy honeywell from Amazon, but like I mentioned no time to read all.
How are the honeywell air purifier now ? Easy to buy filters ?

Also read about the XiaoMi air purifier, but reviews says that it is super noisy. True ?

All feedback appreciated . thanks

Sharp AX40 then. SGD269 now.

There is no such thing as washable HEPA. The LG just merely means that the construction outer netting is tougher. But doesn't mean that can get the fine particulate matter out.

Can share why it's so critical that you get the AP fast?

Anyway, seems like the Tanjung Langsat landfill fire is taking a turn for the worse. Past few hours can smell a wee bit, and I am at the South side.

It's still burning, one OP at PAsir Ris side says there is still smoke. Since Feb 13th it has not been extinguished.

Indonesia Newsstand | VP Kalla Slams Neighboring Countries Over Haze Complaints

The Jakarta Globe | Tuesday, 3 Mar 2015 18:47

Jakarta. Vice President Jusuf Kalla has denounced neighboring Singapore and Malaysia for complaining about the severe haze caused every year by Indonesian forest fires. He said he took note of the way the neighboring countries had kept complaining when toxic haze from adjacent areas in Indonesia, Riau in particular, fouled their air.

“For 11 months, they enjoyed nice air from Indonesia and they never thanked us. They have suffered because of the haze for one month and they get upset,” Kalla said on Tuesday.

Environmental group Greenpeace Indonesia reported forest fires in Riau have worsened from 6,644 hotspots in 2011 to 15,112 hotspots in 2013.

Kalla said Indonesia has repeatedly and profoundly apologized for the forest fires and for the inconvenience and pollution the haze caused in neighboring countries.

However, the outspoken vice president has previously sparked controversy when he claimed that foreign technology was behind the forest fires and therefore foreign countries must share the burden of responsibility in dealing with the forest fires.

“Somebody once told me that Indonesia must restore its tropical forests, and I told him, ‘Excuse me? What did you say? Do you know who damaged our forests?’” Kalla added.

Indonesia’s National Disaster Mitigation Agency, or BNPD, said the potential economic losses from the fires and haze that took place during the emergency period that ran from Feb. 26 to April 4 last year were estimated at Rp 20 trillion ($1.6 billion).

Nearly 22,000 hectares of land were adversely affected, including 2,400 hectares in biosphere reserves. Nearly six million people were exposed to the haze, and 58,000 people suffered respiratory problems as a result.

that's why puzzled bro. both look exactly same.

and for the LG LA-Q379SB model sold in Qoo10, I cant find any specs on it.
If is same then I can take the specs from LG website.

Do you know which type of HEPA filter it is for this model ?

It's H13 filter. Specs ok lah, 46dB, 40W, 39 sqm so it's close to AX40's 41 sqm. So prob low 300 m3/hr airflow.

How to tell that the filter is due for changing, other than relying on the indicator on the AP (assuming it is working properly in the first place)?

The indicator usually is just a operation time based counter bah... quite useless coz it does not take into account the environment that the purifier is operating in. For me, it's a combination of airflow strength, noise level and weird smell...

Its a good machine, but seriously the humidifier is not useful and humidifys v slowly. Get a seperate humidifier if you need (those mist type).

The H13 does not last 10 yrs and must not be used for so long...due to bacteria, mold and viruses.
Recommended to change 6 to 9 mths.

The safest is time...if you are hygiene sensitive. Doesnt matter if you just switched on for 30 days over the past 8 months.

Its the same story for water filters. Worse...coz its wet.

Butbof coz, there will be users who use for years till it clogs.

Due to this reason, the taobao filters could be more useful for some.
