Actually what can be serviced? For me I have opened up my Sharp FU-Z31 before to clean the centrifugal fan and inside air chamber walls, coz I bought it for S$74 from Cash Convertor and it was quite dusty inside. Probably due to the fact that stock filters (Sharp) do not have that HEPA seal at the sides (PU foam, LDPE foam etc).

Bought 4pcs of HEPA filters (97% @ 0.3 microns) from that taobao seller, RMB60 each. Exact fit.

PS. Wouldn't recommend it if you are not a hardcore AP addict, it took me close to 2hrs to dismantle and clean.

How bad is AQI 200? The funny thing is that AQI 200, Malaysia would cut all schools, and they did cut like 3X in 2014.

That video is really good, it dived deep into the chemical composition of China's photochemical smog (ie secondary conversion of PM2.5) and haze.

Anyway, we are lucky that Indonesia's biomass haze due to peat and forest burning is much more benign. Even PAH/Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons is not much, ie the chao tar stuff you find on your bak kwa.

This year lower risk in terms of extended dry season vs last year. But anything is possible.

But residents in the East (and maybe even South) gotta take note. The Tanjung Lansat landfill fire is magnitudes more toxic than Indonesian haze. It probably is as toxic as the China shiat they are getting up in Northeastern Asia. We got 155 ug/m3 peaks and subsequently a few more times of short duration peaks usually during Zzzz timing (0100-0600hrs).

It's much better now.

And it could happen again. Many years ago, since like 2006/2007 till present, it's a common occurrence that NE residents like Punggol/SK/Hougang always say got plastic burning smell....but SCDF would report zero incidents. Do a google.

Truth be told, I still like the design of Sharp air purifiers best. My wife thinks so too.

She hates my Samsung AX40. It's banned from the MBR. I am using it in the PC room. The NAP501 is in the baby/kids room.

The S$279 price and 350 m3/hr does nothing for her.
