Yes, you are absolutely right about this. I think it is a common limitation for non-laser diode particle counter. Personally after this experience, I think they are probably more suited for outdoor rather than indoor air quality monitoring due to noise in data at low concentration.

Not really. A bit noisy also and sucks electricity. Its good for anti-haze during those months but not good as daily user.

Not expert int his, but read that
laser/led light affected by the differing light absorption of the particles.

The beta emission method also got its -ve, dunno affected by humidity.
