Those who urgently seeking for an AP, I just saw 3M filtrete Air Purifier, Model FAP03, $299 offer till today. Saw 4 pieces outside.

Location: NTUC Xtra @ JEM

Just sharing.

Best Denki @ Taka still got decent stocks. Some are OOS, but got money, sure can secure a unit.

The 3M Filtrete are not HEPA. Electrostatic. The blueair aren't HEPA also. (that's why the measurement in the lab showed that the output of the Bluear is 8 ug/m3, not sure what's the input concentration)

@Wussredxli, anywhere recommended to get Activated carbon if switch to the TB HEPA filter? Still only amazon? Got TB ones?
Understand from an earlier post you said that the activated carbon filter is no longer useful liao (my ax40s are bought last year).

Unfortunately, no real solution for the AC. Not enough space.

I mean the 3M FAP02/01/03 uses this kind of electrostatic charged fibre filter. Same workings of the 3M Filtrete aircon filter.

The performance drops off with usage. HEPA maintains, more or less.

The same goes for the electrostatic charged plates. My first air purifier was a Trion electrostatic AP. In the 1990s. It's not new.

i think ax40 so popular maybe due to this thread recommendation and haze worsen.

For me, i think it is
-Cheap
-High performance CADR 305
-Energy saving
-Quiet

tbh, most of them i see with this budget, perform less than CADR 200.
Samsung AX40 has a CADR of 305, may I know where you get the info. Thanks!

There is a lab that tested with results 323 m3/hr, but I lost the link.

Anyway, here's a direct test against the Healthpro 250.

And these are tested at a Guanzgzhou test agency. Note the Healthpro 250.

Samsung AX40 on max fan speed is wee bit quieter than the LG. Both ard same performance. The LG has Low, Medium, High and Turbo fan speed. The High speed is very quiet (quieter than Samsung on max) but blows out decent amount of air. Whereas Samsung has only 2 useful speeds : Low and Max. So the LG is slightly more useful in real life.

Taobao filters, 45mm depth, they are around the same price for both. 130-140RMB depending on the number you order.

The LG has a 20% bigger filter than the Samsung, which means less air resistance if you go the aftermarket route. Slightly better.

Very difficult decision ba. If you are a light sleeper or you need to place the AP near where you would be sleeping, I'd recommend the LG. If you are going to place it some distance away, probably Samsung AX40.

Do you know which one has a timer function? Thanks.
