Ok... Guess sharp stocks are in already.... Went to 3 malls (not to chk on the stocks just happen that we need to do some shopping) went into the megastore to Kay Poh.... Cfm got stocks...

Well .... Maybe I shld get another one for my son...

I miss the price of Sharp FU-A28E at $78 to $128 some 1-2 years ago. Someone got it at $78 at Courts offer here.

The stock filter is HEPA 10. The replacement filters for this model is notoriously hard to get (I have seen none in the stores), I read that its replacement filters can be purchased from the Sharp agent, but no worries can just cut it out yourself with stuff purchased via Amazon Free ship to SG/FSSG. (just stick up the sides to eliminate bypass and DIY with some PU foam strips). It's also 3X cheaper.

HEPA 13.
Amazon.com: Fellowes HF-230 True HEPA Filter, for use with Fellowes AP-230PH Air Purifier (9370001): Health & Personal Care

It's $179 now and $169 offer price. :(

It's just nice for those new BTO type flats' rooms. Really no need to spend $300-400.

Get it from their website, self collect yourself and get a free water pitcher worth $79.So effectively with the free filters worth $109 and water pitcher worth $79,you pay only $111 for the np501.

The samsung one CADR is approx 3X of this Sharp FU-A28. Also, do check out the power consumption, the FU-A28 needs 48W on max speed (16 sqm cleaning) and the Samsung is 34W (41 sqm). Lower speeds, comsumption is probably linearly lower. If you are operating for longer periods, the power consumption does make a significant difference after 2-3 years.

So really depends on your needs.

$137 here, pre-order http://www.lioncityco.com/product_info.php?products_id=959 (I have no exp with this company though)

Geylang Rd....just opp Geylang Lor 37. It's quite a distance from circle line Paya Lebar esp so for EW line Paya Lebar....for those relying on public tpt. But still walkable, though you'd definitely perspire a lot when you reach the MRT.

Novita is worst, upp thomsond rd and ulu place...no MRT etc.

If driving then no issue i guess.

Is it a worthwhile upgrade over NAP501 (also + 1 extra filter) for a hundred bucks?

If you are using at night during sleeping time then IMO Yes, it's quite a bit quieter while shifting more air.

Replacement filter just DIY the Amazon one that I shared ba. Tag with other items in Amazon FSSG....buy more if needed and be done with replacement filters forever. The Fellows HEPA that I SICed is bigger than both the NAP501 and Samsung AX40, so can cut and share between the 2....at least for me.
